Monday, Nov. 16
12:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglary reported on
Second Avenue East.
8:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglary reported on East
Highway 61.
10:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck near mile
marker 149.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Property damage to a
vehicle reported.
5:07 p.m., Grand Portage: Threatening phone call
reported.
Tuesday, Nov. 17
10:03 a.m., Hovland: Fraud attempt reported.
11:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Abandoned vehicle
reported on East Highway 61.
2:22 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm reported.
3:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone scam reported.
4:52 p.m., Grand Marais: The caller came home
to find her dog missing. The dog was tied up at a
residence on School House Road when last seen.
7:46 p.m., Lutsen: A light was left on at Cathedral of
the Pines.
7:57 p.m., Lutsen: The Highway Department was
notified that the sign for White Sky Trail and Caribou
Trail is knocked over.
9:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller saw three kids trying
to break into a residence on Third Avenue East. They
took off toward the log cabin.
Wednesday, Nov. 18
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: The caller said he got
a phone call from someone speaking a foreign
language. They said something about Obama, then
hung up.
10:32 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was called to
capture two loose dogs near Super America.
11:09 a.m., Lutsen: Report of trees down on the
Caribou Trail.
11:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Highway Department
removed a downed tree on the Gunflint Trail near
Squint Lake.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on Wesley Lane.
Highway Department notified.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of kids in swim suits
playing in a pool of water near the highway at Gofer
Cabins, with no adult supervision.
6:42 p.m., Schroeder: Tree down on Cramer Road.
9:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint.
10:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree removed from the
Gunflint Trail.
Thursday, Nov. 19
5:32 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said the power has
been out since 8 p.m.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost wallet
somewhere downtown.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller just noticed that the
screen on the front door has been cut.
3:32 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
8:22 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a chimney fire on
Upper Road was a false alarm.
Friday, Nov. 20
12:19 a.m., Lutsen: A dog took off while on a hike
near Lutsen Mountains. Animal Advocates was
notified.
1:02 a.m., Hovland: A tree was blocking the entrance
to McFarland Lake Campground.
1:52 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
6:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on Clearwater
Road.
10:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, Nov. 21
10:45 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog complaint.
1:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that the “No Passing”
sign was down in the ditch off County Road 7.
3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black vehicle
speeding down the Gunflint Trail.
Sunday, Nov. 22
1:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver arrested for driving
while intoxicated (DWI).
7:56 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a man shooting a
handgun on Bay Estates Road.
10:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
5:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
