on Bunn Trail.
7:05 a.m., Grand Marais: A dead deer
was removed from the highway.
7:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver
arrested for driving after cancellation.
9:05 a.m., Grand Marais: A stray cat
was picked up at Holiday.
9:33 a.m., Grand Marais: A cement
truck tipped on County Road 7.
9:55 a.m., Grand Marais: ATV
complaint on the Hungry Jack Road.
10:19 a.m., Hovland: A grouse hunter
said he made a mysterious discovery of
abandoned property that he feels needs
to be reported.
10:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
there is a wire lying across Sobanja
Lane with yellow flagging on it, and
it has been there for a while. He was
wondering what it is for.
3:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
suspicious man on Old Ski Hill Road,
dressed in blue, who came out of the
woods carrying a shotgun and wouldn’t
talk to the caller.
4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about a semi passing unsafely on the
highway.
8:13 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
Tuesday, Oct. 20
12:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a yelling and out-of-control person at
Birchwood Apartments.
7:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Driver
issued a citation at the border for a
small amount of marijuana in a motor
vehicle.
7:54 a.m., Grand Marais: School zone
patrol.
9:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller found
a back pack and unrolled sleeping bag
near the Border Route hiking trail near
McFarland Lake, and believed it was
suspicious.
3:12 p.m., Grand Marais: A person
wanted on a Cook County warrant
turned himself in.
5:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
6:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s
7-year-old son was missing.
Wednesday, Oct. 21
2:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
two individuals were parked out on
Devil Track Road and then were
walking around her residence with
flashlights.
6:36 a.m., Hovland: Report of sparks
and an orange light on a transformer
near the fire department.
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage
on Timberwolf Lane.
11:36 a.m., Hovland: School bus stop
arm violation on Casper’s Hill.
12:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Criminal
sexual conduct investigation.
6:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck
and injured on the highway.
10:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Motorist
assist.
10:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
someone has a lot of drugs in their
basement.
Thursday, Oct. 22
12:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of gas
from a vehicle.
2:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Furnace alarm
went off at the Art Colony.
5:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Mom went to
pick up her child at the library, and he
wasn’t there.
7:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an
injured snowy owl on the south side of
the highway at mile marker 105.
10:03 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Bluefin Bay. The fireplace damper wasn’t
open.
10:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an
injured snowy owl across the highway
from the post office.
Friday, Oct. 23
7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: A snowy owl
was sitting on the ground at the entrance
to Best Western.
8:48 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
1:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Child
protection issue.
3:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation
issued.
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
10:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
requested a welfare check on his
children, who are at his ex-wife’s home.
Saturday, Oct. 24
12:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
white van that’s been in and out of the
Birchwood Apartments parking lot
about 20 times today. There are three
occupants, and they spend a lot of time
outside, looking over their shoulders
and acting suspiciously.
10:21 a.m., Grand Marais: A tree fell and
was blocking the southbound lane of the
Gunflint Trail, just above South Brule
Road.
10:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
black dog running around near Nosker’s
cabins. The caller was unsure who it
belongs to.
11:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Property
damage reported on Harbor View Trail.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: A little brown
mutt wearing a shock collar was hanging
around a Cardinal Road residence.
5:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest on a St.
Louis County warrant.
6:05 p.m., Hovland: Caller said a vehicle
has been parked in a driveway on Tom
Lake Road for the past three or four
days, with the keys in the ignition.
7:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost cell phone
reported.
Sunday, Oct. 25
2:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Car alarm was
going off on Broadway.
3:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two
vehicles broken into on Second Avenue
East.
9:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A little black
leather wallet was found at the library.
11:01 a.m., Lutsen: Property damage
to a vehicle parked on Ski Hill Road. A
window was busted out.
10:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Someone
went into two vehicles parked on First
Avenue East overnight.
