2:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a man passed out on
the lawn at Birch Terrace.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a dog “Banjo” has shown up
at a residence on Third Avenue West.
1:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the waves are crashing on the
lake, and he can see three people out in kayaks, possibly in distress.
2:00 p.m., Lutsen: Trespassing.
2:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:39 p.m., Tofte: Caller said a young man on a skateboard is
holding onto and following a vehicle going down the Sawbill, and
he’s going to be hurt.
3:55 p.m., Schroeder: Person fell off a ladder and is unresponsive.
7:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible break-in reported at Go-Fer
Court.
9:48 p.m., Hovland: Report of fireworks on North Road.
11:41 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
Sunday, Oct. 11
8:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller was checking on the neighbor’s
dog, and the cat got out.
1:15 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
5:12 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle went off Clara Lake Road and hit a tree.
No injuries reported.
8:54 p.m., Tofte: Report of what appear to be small hot air balloons
on Tofte Park Road.
11:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the lights have been going
on and off in her residence, and she doesn’t know if someone is in
there. Deputy requested to check.
Monday, Oct. 12
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: School zone patrol.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Three passports were lost or misplaced
somewhere downtown.
12:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious person (the
same man from Thursday) wandering Wisconsin Street talking
to himself and running around, and then sitting down in Harbor
Park.
6:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard a male neighbor swearing at
a female, but not sure who it was.
7:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident on the Gunflint Trail.
11:51 p.m., Tofte: Fire alarm activation at AmericInn, determined
to be a false alarm.
Tuesday, Oct. 13
12:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the lakeside ditch near mile
marker 120.
4:43 a.m., Grand Portage: Tree down in the westbound lane of the
highway near mile marker 147.
8:37 a.m., Hovland: Complaint about gravel trucks driving up and
down the Arrowhead Trail/Irish Creek at a high rate of speed and
forcing other vehicles off the road.
9:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Security requested at the courthouse for
the dairy case.
9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
2:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle in the ditch on the
west side of Bally Creek Road, about three miles south of the
Grade.
3:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
6:07 p.m., Schroeder: A license plate was found at the Cross River
rest area.
7:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured on the highway.
11:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a semi in the parking
lot near Mangy Moose with its engine running for about an hour.
Wednesday, Oct. 14
9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed by a vehicle on
County Road 7.
11:42 a.m., Grand Marais: A woman found an orange tabby cat
at Judge Magney State Park and brought it down to the pound.
Animal Advocates was notified.
12:15 p.m., Hovland: Deputy assistance was requested to put a
moose down at mile marker 133.
2:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle struck a moose on the Gunflint
Trail. The animal ran off into the woods and the vehicle sustained
front-end damage.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: False smoke alarm at the Trading Post.
7:21 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin. A guest forgot to open
the fireplace damper.
Thursday, Oct. 15
9:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:55 p.m., Lutsen: A backboard was needed to get a 30-year-old
fall victim off the summit at Lutsen Mountains.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
Friday, Oct. 16
2:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential fire alarm on Devil Track
Road.
10:40 a.m., Lutsen: A deer was struck by a vehicle near Caribou
Trail-Highway 61, and was still flopping around. State Patrol
notified.
1:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:26 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a lost camera on the hiking trail.
3:14 p.m., Tofte: Report of a .33-acre fire near the Sawbill Lake
Campground. The Forest Service was on the scene.
3:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint.
7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was an orange light on
the transformer at Clearwater Lodge.
10:38 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at AmericInn.
10:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of gunshots on Devil Track
Road.
Saturday, Oct. 17
2:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Alcohol complaint from Birch Terrace.
3:57 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog ran off from a residence on
County Road 6.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint. A vehicle was
blocking the alley at Sven & Ole’s.
8:13 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
9:19 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle rolled on the Gunflint Trail
between Lullaby Creek Road and Brule River.
Sunday, Oct. 18
12:59 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle ran out of gas near Cutface.
2:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a loud fight at a Devil Track
Road residence.
2:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Two little pugs showed up at Blue Moose,
unknown who the owners are.
3:17 p.m., Lutsen: Caller struck and killed a buck on Mink Ranch
Road.
7:09 p.m., Croftville: A loud alarm-type noise was going off on the
Croftville Road.
