the past day. The dog had no collar and
looked hungry.

found three guns and a handgun case
and turned them in to the sheriff.
1:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A tree along
the highway fell on phone and power
lines.
3:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
8:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a
man flashing himself at the C-store. It
was unknown who he was, or where he
went.
9:50 p.m., Grand Marais: A bear was
struck by a vehicle near Cascade Lodge.
11:53 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation
issued.
Tuesday, Sept. 8
6:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s dog got
loose on First Avenue West.
7:42 a.m., Grand Marais: School zone
patrol.
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an
unattended baby in a stroller in front of
Birchwood Apartments.
6:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing
phone calls reported.
6:31 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a vicious
dog near the ballpark.
11:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic
disturbance reported.
Wednesday, Sept. 9
1:12 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller was
concerned about a co-worker who took
off earlier in the day and didn’t come
back.
10:18 a.m., Lutsen: Mail fraud reported.
2:46 p.m., Lutsen: Parking complaint.
3:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet
reported.
4:49 p.m., Grand Portage: Domestic
disturbance reported, citation issued.
Thursday, Sept. 10
1:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Person picked
up on a Hennepin County warrant.
8:29 a.m., Grand Marais: A car was on
fire on South Shore Drive.
8:50 a.m., Grand Marais: A bear tipped
over the caller’s BBQ grill and took part
of it. The neighbors on the Gunflint
Trail are also having bear problems.
11:01 a.m., Tofte: Illegal dumping
reported.
12:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Cows are out
of their pen and loose along the edge of
County Road 7.
1:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Counterfeit
$10 bill received at the lodge.
1:12 p.m., Grand Marais: $48 gas driveoff from Super America.
1:35 p.m., Lutsen: An altercation
between two foreign workers occurred
at Caribou Highlands Lodge. One was at
the hospital with a broken nose.
5:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone fraud
reported.
7:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
Friday, Sept. 11
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was
requested for traffic assistance while
children crossed the highway.
11:04 a.m., Hovland: Report of a
pick-up that has been parked in the
Superior Hiking Trail lot for a week and
hasn’t been moved.
12:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a
skateboard that fell off the tailgate of a
truck.
2:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Property
damage at Cascade River State Park.
Someone used a hammer to damage the
kiosk displays, and a sign was driven
over.
3:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats made.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic
altercation.
9:19 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Surfside.
Saturday, Sept. 12
9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
9:48 a.m., Lutsen: Property damage to a
trailer reported, and also possibly some
young women squatting in it.
10:03 a.m., Schroeder: A car flipped
over in the ditch near Ash Cell Road.
12:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
witnessed his neighbor punching a dog.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
6:43 p.m., Grand Marais: A small multicolored purse was found on a bench on
Wisconsin Street.
