Monday, July 13
9:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud.
6:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said some kids were
riding her nephew’s stolen bike.
6:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was a big box
in the middle of Second Avenue East.
Tuesday, July 14
12:11 a.m., Grand Portage: Tree down and blocking the
highway near mile marker 148.
6:34 a.m., Schroeder: Caller reported that there is a small
fishing boat about a half-mile offshore, and he can’t tell if
anyone is in it.
8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke in the area of
Traveler’s Rest.
11:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the corner at the
top of County Road 6 is really slick.
1:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that a person with an
outstanding warrant was staying in town.
5:04 p.m., Colvill: Substation outage.
6:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported break-in attempt at a
cabin.
7:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there were kids on
four-wheelers jumping the road on County Road 6, and
he was concerned they were going to get hit by a vehicle.
Wednesday, July 15
12:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about loud partiers
at the Rec Park.
8:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Threats reported.
11:22 a.m., Schroeder: Report of brass fittings stolen
from a service truck.
12:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
3:51 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Surfside, set off when
a kid pulled the alarm.
7:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he almost got run
over crossing the street in front of Dairy Queen.
7:26 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
8:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, July 16
11:05 a.m., Grand Portage: Theft reported.
12:40 p.m., Schroeder: Phone fraud reported.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone fraud reported.
4:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an abandoned
vehicle on North Gunflint Lake Road that’s been there
for over a month.
4:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two people who went
missing while out hiking near Moose Pond Drive.
6:52 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was left in Joynes.
Friday, July 17
8:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an erratic driver
going up the Gunflint Trail.
State Patrol notified.
1:23 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said an ice truck was
smoking, and was possibly going to start on fire.
3:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible shots fired over a UPS
vehicle.
6:33 p.m., Schroeder: Motorist assist.
6:35 p.m., Croftville: Lost dog seen wandering from
Croftville Road.
11:33 p.m., Grand Marais: A nuisance bear was shot on
Sag Lake Trail with DNR permission.
11:58 p.m., Hovland: Power outage.
Saturday, July 18
6:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her 33-year-old son
is missing and she’s concerned.
9:27 a.m., Tofte: Vandalism reported on Forest Service
property. Steps were ripped off.
11:06 a.m., Schroeder: Possible underage drinking and
partying reported.
11:59 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A kid’s bike was abandoned
on Sixth Avenue West.
12:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Law enforcement was alerted
of an overdue aircraft, last seen 28 miles from Grand
Marais.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal dumping on Pike Lake
Road reported.
5:12 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
8:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a driver was going
backwards and swerving around on West First Street.
11:59 p.m., Lutsen: Underage drinking reported.
Sunday, July 19
12:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:56 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
6:34 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
6:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on County Road 7.
11:58 a.m., Schroeder: Single-vehicle accident at Sugar
Loaf Road-Highway 61. No injuries reported.
12:28 p.m., Hovland: Abandoned ATV at Tom Lake-
Crossover roads.
