the highway near Ski Hill Road.
8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost set of keys, somewhere near
the folk school.
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
1:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident in front of the
Recycling Center, no injuries.
6:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black lab on the loose,
heading east on the sidewalk near Grand Marais State Bank.
7:28 p.m., Lutsen: Phone fraud reported.
7:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke coming from the
rear of a house near mile marker 123.
8:12 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm from East Bay
Suites.
8:39 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm from Bluefin Bay caused by
cooking.
9:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for assault and
burglary.

was backed into.

10:31 a.m., Hovland: Driver cited for speeding.
10:56 a.m., Grand Portage: Driver cited for speeding.
11:11 a.m., Tofte: A male Yorkie was found at Bluefin Bay,
and will be kept at the front desk until the owner can be
contacted.
4:32 p.m., Schroeder: Security alarm at Cross River Heritage
Center.
8:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle parked at the
Cascade River wayside rest for four days.
10:11 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported a missing front
plate on his vehicle.
Wednesday, May 20
12:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Strong smell of natural gas in the
alley behind East Bay.
12:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Child protection issue.
1:35 p.m., Hovland: Complaint about logging trucks using
County Roads 69 and 70. The road restrictions won’t be lifted
for a few more weeks.
2:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a large truck
that jake brakes coming down the hill from Pincushion. It
comes down the hill every single day, sometimes also in the
evening.
Thursday, May 21
5:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed on the
highway at mile marker 102.
9:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Internet fraud reported.
4:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats reported.
7:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal burning of garbage reported.
8:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he keeps getting calls
from someone trying to reach the hospital, obviously in
distress.
8:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
9:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Hot-rodding reported.
10:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller has a bear at his bird feeder
and is wondering what to do.
Friday, May 22
7:26 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle backed into at Clearview.
8:32 a.m., Caller said her neighbor’s dog has been on her
property repeatedly and is acting aggressively.
10:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a utility pole down at
Fourth Avenue West-Highway 61, not blocking traffic.
1:33 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a laptop was stolen
from his house about a month and a half ago.
5:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Two canoeists were pulled from the
water at Gunflint Lake.
11:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for no proof of
insurance and warned for broken tail light.
Saturday, May 23
12:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
1:04 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove an
unwanted drunk person from a residence.
2:20 a.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made for interference with
an emergency call and domestic assault.
9:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his daughter is flipping
out, possibly coming down off some kind of drug.
10:26 a.m., Lutsen: Power outage on Railroad Drive.
2:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment via Facebook reported.
2:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint regarding campers
at Two Island Lake Campground.
4:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was concerned about the
welfare of a dog locked in a parked vehicle near the donut
shop.
6:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Nuisance bear at Trout Lake Resort.
Referred to a game warden.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Callers got locked out of a house
they are renting and were referred to a locksmith.
Sunday, May 24
1:26 a.m., Tofte: A possibly homeless man was dropped off at
Bluefin.
3:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that there is a bear
in a tree above their tent at Cascade State Park, and must
have ransacked their cooler.
6:06 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said the homeless man is sleeping
near the entrance to Clearview General Store.
12:53 p.m., Hovland: Caller said people are racing a fourwheeler up and down Tower Road.
1:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his dog, a black husky,
escaped the house and is on the run.
6:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Hot-rodding reported on Artist
Point.
7:11 p.m., Lutsen: A bike tire was found on the side of the
road and dropped off at the Law Enforcement Center.
10:18 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
