Monday, April 20
9:10 a.m., Hovland: Driver cited for speeding.
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver reported that as he was
driving on Highway 61, an 18-wheeler came by and
knocked the driver’s side mirror off.
1:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Fraud reported.
9:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured at the
intersection of County Road 7 and Pike Lake Road.
11:42 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
Tuesday, April 21
10:16 a.m., Grand Marais: An eighth-grade student walked
off the school grounds.
5:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said County Road 48 is
collapsing near the culvert.
6:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding and
child restraint violation.
Wednesday, April 22
12:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
1:00 p.m., Hovland: Harassing phone calls reported.
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked if it’s legal to drive a
golf cart on city streets.
6:33 p.m., Schroeder: Driver cited for speeding.
Thursday, April 23
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway near
mile marker 115.
9:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding and no
proof of insurance.
9:43 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm reported.
Friday, April 24
1:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said an orange tabby cat
has been hanging around his porch.
4:27 p.m., Schroeder: Theft of plumbing parts reported.
5:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a trailer was
parked in front of his garage door, and he doesn’t know
whose it is.
5:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Trespassing reported.
9:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious vehicle parked at
Birchwood Apartments.
11:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a possible 16-year-old
runaway.
Saturday, April 25
1:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of possible trespassing
and suspicious activity at Birchwood Apartments.
8:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Cascade Beach
Road.
8:56 a.m., Schroeder: Residential fire alarm at Temperance
Landing, determined to be false.
12:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said somebody stopped
on Highway 61 to take pictures, and drove off without his
camera bag.
1:01 p.m., Tofte: Report of an injured eagle on Baker Lake.
5:20 p.m., Tofte: Caller said a woman who was traveling
with him was looking at the falls and has disappeared.
6:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Stray cat has been hanging
around the caller’s house for several days, and something
needs to be done about it.
6:39 p.m., Tofte: Deputy requested to remove an unwanted
person from Bluefin Bay.
Sunday, April 26
4:29 a.m., Tofte: Burglar alarm set off at Coho Café by
cleaning person.
7:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported.
9:20 a.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm on Rosebush
Lane.
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Grass fire on Bloomquist
Mountain Road.
11:24 a.m., Tofte: Theft of services at Chateau Leveaux.
1:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone at
Birchwood Apartments has crystal meth.
5:19 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm set off by burned food.
6:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported
on the paths between Birchwood Apartments and and
Sawtooth Ridges.
7:44 p.m., Tofte: Theft of items from a cabin reported.
Monday, April 27
9:01 a.m., Tofte: Two motorists stopped and warned for
speeding in a school zone.
9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: A black leather appointment
book was found.
11:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
12:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to deal with an
uncooperative inmate.
2:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for a probation
violation.
3:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a missing runaway
child.
6:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller saw a flare go up over the
lake.
8:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a possible deceased
person.
Tuesday, April 28
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested for
an uncooperative care center resident.
5:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a westbound blue semi
crossing the center line near mile marker 114.
8:58 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
Wednesday, April 29
8:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint.
10:10 a.m., Grand Portage: Motorist assist.
1:31 p.m., Lutsen: A person was out on the lake and found
something odd wrapped in fleece with a blue tarp and
orange flags, but it sunk before the person could recover it.
2:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke near a pit off
Wahlstrom Road.
7:47 p.m., Tofte: Truck stuck in a ditch off Six Hundred
Road.
