4:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that two vehicles were
driving on the ball field at the Rec Park, tearing it up.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: A set of keys was found at
Joynes.
5:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of two dogs running
around near the highway at Hollow Rock Resort.
6:54 p.m., Tofte: Driver cited for speeding.
7:46 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assistance requested
by Border Patrol.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding vehicle at
Birchwood Apartments.
Tuesday, April 14
7:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said one of the cars
has returned to the Rec Park and is getting ready to do
more donuts on the ball field.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a red plump
chicken is on the loose, last seen heading east on
Fourth Street.
11:30 a.m., Schroeder: Grass fire near the county line.
12:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Small grass fire near Judge
Magney State Park was contained by an engine.
12:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a dog bite at
Windigo, and sought treatment at his own doctor’s in
the cities.
12:54 p.m., Grand Marais: DNR reported a piece of
logging equipment was on fire near Bally Creek Road,
but is out now. No need for the fire department to
respond.
8:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Alarm going off at Gunflint
Hills Golf Course.
9:08 p.m., Lutsen: Caller’s dog was in a culvert off
Caribou Trail and he needed assistance getting it out.
11:29 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said someone was
pounding on the front door of the house, and then he
heard something hit the back side of the house.
Wednesday, April 15
8:46 a.m., Hovland: Report of illegal dumping at the
highway department garage.
11:51 a.m., Schroeder: Grass fire on the Cramer Road.
3:28 p.m., Lutsen: Caller chased a bear away from the
front door.
4:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he saw a man
throw a cigarette out his car window on First Avenue
East.
Thursday, April 16
12:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Front door alarm activated at
the Trading Post. The building was found to be secure.
1:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he saw a man
wearing a black hoody who appeared to be intoxicated
at Dairy Queen.
1:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Man arrested for a probation
violation.
3:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Child custody dispute.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
11:21 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin caused by a
smoky fire in a fireplace.
Friday, April 17
9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Stolen bike reported on West
Fifth Street.
10:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Speeding citation issued.
4:07 p.m., Hovland: Driver cited for speeding.
5:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal dumping reported.
Someone left a large tire in the parking lot at First
Congregational Church.
9:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint regarding six
vehicles with loud music at Artist Point.
Saturday, April 18
5:50 a.m., Grand Marais: A collie mix named “Kimber”
was missing from County Road 60. The dog was last
seen about 9 p.m. the previous night.
8:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Bally Creek
Road.
11:54 a.m., Grand Marais: A very skittish Irish setter
has been hanging around Ugly Baby for a week, but the
owner can’t be determined.
12:37 p.m., Tofte: Driver cited for speeding.
1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Horses out on Pincushion.
1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Alarm going off at Gunflint
Hills Golf Course, determined to be false.
2:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver was stuck in a
snowbank at Mink Lake Public Access and requested a
tow.
2:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
3:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
3:52 p.m., Schroeder: Speeding citation issued.
5:55 p.m., Schroeder: Speeding citation issued.
7:21 p.m., Schroeder: Report of smoke in the area of
