Monday, Nov. 16

10:11 a.m., Grand Portage: Reported theft of medication from a coat pocket left inside a vehicle.

10:28 a.m., Tofte: Woman reported that her daughter ran away.

7:09 p.m., Tofte: Reported loss of a wallet.

Tuesday, Nov. 17

10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical assistance requested for a man who was unresponsive and believed to be deceased.

11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was told by her neighbors that there were three people in her back yard last night with flashlights. She didn’t find anything out of order, but wanted to make the deputies aware of it.

2:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Motorist hit an icy patch on the Gunflint Trail about three miles south of Bearskin, and slid into the ditch and hit a tree. There were no injuries. 9:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment by phone. The victim said she was not interested in the man, and was going to speak with his wife to try to get the calls to stop.

11:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that somebody was banging on the windows of a residence, and they were doing the same thing earlier in the afternoon. Nobody was around when a deputy investigated.

Wednesday, Nov. 18

9:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Somebody brought a prescription pill bottle containing white powder in to the Law Enforcement Center and wanted a deputy to check it.

12:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of kids smoking behind the Community Center. They were gone when a deputy arrived.

3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Tow truck needed to extricate a vehicle that slid into a swampy area at the intersection of County Roads 6 and 8.

3:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said people stopped in her driveway wanting to shoot deer in her yard.

10:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic assault reported. A Grand Portage man, 42, was arrested and booked into jail.

Thursday, Nov. 19

8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire Department called for a possible electrical fire in the crawl space of a home on Poplar Lake. Smoke was found in the basement.

12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Golden retriever was running around the highway near Subway.

Friday, Nov. 20

8:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire Department requested to check on a carbon monoxide detector that was going off.

Saturday, Nov. 21

3:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that vandalism was taking place on Oberg Mountain right now. There were four young males throwing park benches off the cliff.

11:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch near 4848 E. Highway 61.

Sunday, Nov. 22

1:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault.

2:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested for three people who were “stuck out in the middle of nowhere.” Theywere located on the Two Island River Road.
