12:39 p.m., Hovland: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 126.
6:30 p.m., Tofte: Driver cited for speeding and warned
for no proof of insurance.
7:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Car stuck on the snow at
Elbow Lake access. Tow truck called.
Tuesday, March 3
2:16 a.m., Lutsen: Driver cited for speeding.
6:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a truck on its side
in the ditch near mile marker 97. No injuries.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Fraud reported.
6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck at mile marker
101.
7:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a stolen truck.
7:50 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck and injured at mile
marker 73.
8:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for expired tabs,
no proof of insurance and expired driver’s license.
Wednesday, March 4
9:39 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to
investigate an abandoned vehicle on Store Road.
9:56 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle slid into a parked
vehicle on the Gunflint Trail. No injuries.
10:20 a.m., Grand Marais: False security alarm at a
downtown business.
10:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A pack of cigarettes was
found in a student’s backpack.
5:17 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said someone left a nonthreatening message on his answering machine.
6:47 p.m., Lutsen: Caller fell off his sled on Caribou
Trail, and his buddies didn’t turn around. His sled was
stuck and his back was sore, and he was panicking
because it was getting dark and he didn’t know where
he was. While on the phone, his buddies returned and
all was okay. Medical assistance was refused.
Thursday, March 5
10:51 a.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about a white
car with a black hood racing around.
1:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
1:54 p.m., Tofte: Driver cited for speeding.
8:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Snowmobile accident with
injury reported.
9:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to talk to a
deputy about a sex crime that happened in 2011.
Friday, March 6
8:22 a.m., Grand Marais: School zone patrol.
10:56 a.m., Hovland: Property damage reported on
Tamarack Trail. There were ruts cut in the driveway,
a post knocked over, and debris left from the vehicle
that did it.
12:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle hit the post office
building. There was minimal damage to the vehicle
and the building.
4:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
4:50 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a strong propane smell
inside a cottage.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost set of keys reported.
5:42 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at a Devil Track
Road residence.
8:30 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a gas smell in the kitchen.
9:34 p.m., Schroeder: Speeding citation issued.
10:21 p.m., Lutsen: Driver cited for no proof of
insurance and warned for speeding.
Saturday, March 7
7:37 a.m., Hovland: Tow truck called for a vehicle
that was broken down in a dangerous spot on the
Arrowhead Trail.
8:33 a.m., Tofte: Harassing e-mail received.
9:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
12:02 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill
for a skier down, unknown injuries.
2:20 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a 13-year-old boy with a back injury.
2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Car stuck in the snow at the
rock cut wayside.
6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing reported.
6:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of lots of shots
coming from the neighbor’s house.
Sunday, March 8
8:52 a.m., Lutsen: Property damage reported at Eagle
Ridge.
10:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost purse reported.
11:25 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm set off by burned
food at Bluefin Bay.
2:41 p.m., Lutsen: An iPad was found at Lutsen
Mountains. The owner could not be found.
2:57 p.m., Lutsen: Driver cited for speeding.
4:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Trespassing reported.
8:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black Lab
running loose near Viking Plumbing, heading up the
Gunflint.
9:12 p.m., Lutsen: An arrest was made on a St. Louis
County warrant.
