12:47 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said her significant other
would not let her leave, then changed her mind and said
he would let her leave, and she did not need a deputy.
10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle off the Gunflint
Trail south of Devil Track Road. No damage or injuries
reported.
12:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost aluminum
snowmobile trailer ramp.
2:34 p.m., Lutsen: Report of water flowing from creeks
onto Highway 61 near Onion River Road.
3:56 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a person driving with a
revoked license.
4:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of water running onto
the highway at mile marker 113.
6:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
7:10 p.m., Tofte: Strong smell of propane near mile
marker 84.
10:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats made.
Tuesday, Feb. 17
1:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at mile
marker 102.
8:33 a.m., Tofte: Caller said there was a pile of
construction stuff smoldering under the snow at a
construction site.
11:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a wedding band
sometime this summer in Grand Marais.
Wednesday, Feb. 18
2:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for no driver’s
license and no proof of insurance.
12:36 p.m., Lutsen: Motorist assist at Caribou Trail.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported theft from a
boat in June.
5:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic issue regarding a
harassment order.
Thursday, Feb. 19
10:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible fraud reported.
12:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver cited for speeding.
12:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver cited for speeding.
9:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost snowmobiler
on Devil Track. The person was later found and was
okay.
Friday, Feb. 20
4:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Smoke detectors were going
off at a residence, but there was no smoke. A deputy
checked and cancelled the fire department.
9:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said two black dogs
ran through her yard, heading downtown from Birch
Terrace.
12:01 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch off Highway 61.
12:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible assault.
7:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity on County
Road 6 reported. A vehicle ran out of gas on somebody’s
driveway and is worried about the homeowner’s
reaction.
8:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible chimney fire on
Store Road reported after sparks were seen. The fire
department checked it out and all was okay.
Saturday, Feb. 21
8:00 a.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle at
mile marker 134.
8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Missing pills reported.
3:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver cited for speeding.
7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Snowmobile accident reported
on the trail three miles up from Grand Marais. A
26-year-old woman suffered a leg injury.
9:22 p.m., Tofte: Lost iPhone on the Onion River Trail.
Sunday, Feb. 22
2:38 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was stuck on the
Gunflint Trail.
10:05 a.m., Hovland: Driver cited for speeding and no
proof of insurance.
2:00 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
woman with a leg injury.
2:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver cited for failing to
signal and warned for not stopping at a stop sign.
11:59 p.m., Grand Marais: A woman who was out
walking for about 30 minutes was brought into the
hospital for psychological evaluation.
