Monday, Jan. 19
7:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her mailbox and
a neighbor’s on Devil Track Road were taken out.
12:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver’s side hit-and-run
damage to a parked vehicle at St. John’s.
2:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats reported.
2:34 p.m., Tofte: Vehicle in the ditch off the highway
at mile marker 84.
6:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported, but
no action taken because the parties separated.
11:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s furnace was
smoking and might be blowing up – there was steam
and smoke puffing out of it.
Tuesday, Jan. 20
12:38 a.m., Grand Portage: Canadian driver with an
obstructed plate was warned.
8:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Vulnerable adult case
investigation.
8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Property damage reported
in the Rec Park. A small vehicle or machine went
through the bike trail fence.
11:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle parked
oddly at the Lindskog Road trailhead.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to let deputies
know that a suspicious person just gassed up a vehicle
and looks like he’ll be heading toward Duluth soon.
3:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Juvenile cited for
possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug
paraphernalia.
8:42 p.m., Grand Marais: A mother was spoken to
after her kids were continually calling 911.
10:34 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a suspicious
vehicle in the Mount Rose church parking lot, driving
around in the ditch. Deputies investigated and
arrested a 56-year-old woman for DWI.
Wednesday, Jan. 21
11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
12:46 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver stopped and
arrested for possible assault.
9:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported
at Birchwood Apartments. There were unknown
people and vehicles in the area.
11:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint at
Birchwood Apartments.
Thursday, Jan. 22
4:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments said someone is throwing rocks at his
window and it’s keeping him up.
4:13 a.m., Tofte: False security alarm at Holiday.
5:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments said someone is pounding on his door.
7:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for driving after
suspension and no proof of insurance after his vehicle
was left running at Birchwood Apartments for about
45 minutes with the door open.
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at Cascade
Lodge to remove an unwanted person.
9:32 a.m., Schroeder: Deer struck on the highway at
mile marker 71.
Friday, Jan. 23
7:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle-deer accident
reported.
5:24 p.m., Schroeder: A driver was stopped and
brought in for psych issues after driving erratically on
the highway.
8:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle slid into an electrical
box near the credit union. The PUC was notified.
Saturday, Jan. 24
12:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Verbal altercation at
Birchwood Apartments.
11:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off
County Road 7.
12:45 p.m., Lutsen: Parking complaint at the ski hill.
8:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of someone driving
up the middle of the Gunflint Trail coming up from
the Recycling Center.
10:38 p.m., Schroeder: Car in the ditch and nobody
around off the Cramer Road.
Sunday, Jan. 25
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible assault reported at
Birchwood Apartments.
4:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a small boy stuck
on a snowmobile on County Road 7.
6:37 p.m., Hovland: Deputy assistance requested
on County Road 69, where a vehicle was stuck in a
snowbank.
9:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Man arrested on a St. Louis
County warrant.
