Monday, Dec. 22
12:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a deer just
struck her vehicle near Sobanja Lane-County Road 6.
8:10 a.m., Lutsen: Violation of a no contact order.
9:15 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
9:34 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle ran into a sign in
the hospital parking lot.
9:53 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of icy conditions
near Mount Josephine.
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: A dog was found running
loose and brought into the sheriff ’s office.
12:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he went into the
post office and came out, and his truck was gone.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a van driving
erratically at mile marker 97.
2:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of possible bullying.
2:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Threatening phone call
reported.
5:17 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and killed at mile
marker 88.

Tuesday, Dec. 23
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Warrant issued for
probation violation.
3:05 p.m., Tofte: Help requested at Bluefin for a
person possibly in Lake Superior. Numerous calls
followed reporting flares off shore that were being
used in the search and rescue.
9:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious activity
(lights in a field) on County Road 7.

Wednesday, Dec. 24
1:29 a.m., Schroeder: Caller said people are inside the
Cross River antique shop.
12:04 p.m., Tofte: Motorist assist.
12:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with
picking debris off the highway near Cascade State
Park.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost springer spaniel on
Kelly’s Hill.
11:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for driving
with a revoked driver’s license.

Thursday, Dec. 25
1:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that there were two
men along the side of the highway at mile marker 102
trying to get to Grand Marais. They’re from Peru.
2:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an altercation at
Birchwood Apartments.
1:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about shots
fired during target practice.
3:40 p.m., Lutsen: Caller’s CO detector was going off
and he requested the fire department to come and
check it out.
6:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on
the Gunflint Trail near the water tower.
7:37 p.m., Schroeder: False fire alarm at Temperance
Landing.

Friday, Dec. 26
10:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a vehicle has
been parked in the YMCA parking lot a long time.
11:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at the
courthouse when someone was going to be fired.
1:26 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a woman, 29, with a spleen injury.
2:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist
with a broken down vehicle on County Road 44.
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
6:23 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said the father of her
four children has kidnapped them, and they’re on the
way to Oklahoma.

Saturday, Dec. 27
4:57 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller complained that he
won on a couple machines at the casino, and they
wouldn’t pay out. The manager claims the person who
pays out those sums isn’t coming in for a couple days,
but the caller said he wanted paid right away.
6:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her husband
texted her and said she couldn’t see the kids for the
rest of family time.
1:54 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a woman, 22, with a hip injury.
3:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for no proof of
insurance.
4:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
11:49 p.m., Lutsen: Driver arrested for driving while
intoxicated.

Sunday, Dec. 28
3:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for speeding.
3:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle stuck on
the Lima Grade.
6:40 p.m., Hovland: Caller said Moose Valley Road
was glare ice and the highway department should do
something about it.
