Monday, Oct. 27
12:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost cell phone.
12:53 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a vagrant with a cart
walking on the highway near Satellite’s Café.
2:47 p.m., Lutsen: Theft of a lawn mower from Caribou
Trail.
5:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a small black
purse was either stolen from a vehicle or lost in Grand
Marais.
5:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone broke
the rain gutters on his garage, and there are skid marks
going out of the driveway.
6:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Drive-off from the Trading
Post.
10:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Car-deer accident on
County Road 7.
10:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about an
idling semi across from Mangy Moose.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
6:29 a.m., Schroeder: Report of a person on the
highway, about a mile into the county, who said he has
been without food for a while and is getting kind of
weak and needs candy. He refused medical help.
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported by the
American Legion.
12:52 p.m., Schroeder: Report that the vagrant
traveling up Highway 61 was just standing on the road
peeing on the pavement.
2:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for no proof of
insurance.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
8:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
10:09 a.m., Grand Marais: A garbage Dumpster at
Trail’s End Campground appears to have been pried
open by a bear, and there is garbage scattered all
around. The Forest Service will take care of it.
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible stolen identity/
fraud reported.
11:36 a.m., Hovland: Lost set of keys reported, possibly
on the Arrowhead Trail.
1:01 p.m., Schroeder: A grouse hunter was stuck on a
road off the 600 Road. His RAV4 was stuck up to the
frame.
Thursday, Oct. 30
12:36 a.m., Tofte: Caller could hear a wolf howling
and was concerned. He wanted to let law enforcement
know.
8:20 a.m., Tofte: Caller said a transient was camping
right in the middle of the bike path, and was concerned
for others’ safety.
10:11 a.m., Grand Portage: Child protection incident.
10:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was almost
struck by an older blue car near the Angry Trout.
12:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
5:47 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
6:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible theft at the high
school.
7:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree down across
the Gunflint Trail near Two Island Road due to high
winds.
Friday, Oct. 31
7:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that someone is
allowing possibly aggressive dogs out at night on West
Fifth Avenue.
10:02 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle roll-over at County Road
34-Highway 61.
1:23 p.m., Tofte: Report of a full-size bus camping in
the post office parking lot.
3:37 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said the cart guy was near
Rollins Creek Road and looked confused.
7:00 p.m., Tofte: Caller said the guy with the grocery
cart is now making his way up the Sawbill Trail.
Saturday, Nov. 1
9:19 a.m., Tofte: The cart guy showed up at Holiday
, and a deputy was requested so he doesn’t hang out
there all day.
10:16 a.m., Hovland: Harassment. Caller said a
suspicious person was monitoring him with a camera.
12:16 p.m., Grand Marais: A pit bull mix was attacked
by a wolf on Eliasen Mill Road.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: A doe was struck and
injured by a vehicle at Grace Drive-Highway 61.
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller on County Road 7 said
there is a goat with a collar on her deck.
4:13 p.m., Hovland: Caller said he was being
monitored by a camera for the second time.
8:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured by a
vehicle at mile marker 113.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A yellow lab took off from a
home on West Second Street.
Sunday, Nov. 2
7:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a vehicle
with Florida plates in the parking lot at the Pines, and
it seems strange. There was frost on the vehicle.
12:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said two dozen
eggs were thrown at his house on County Road 7 on
Halloween night. He found the carton and left it there.
3:26 p.m., Grand Portage: Domestic disturbance.
5:44 p.m., Lutsen: Trespassing reported.
