12:27 a.m., Tofte: Domestic altercation at Bluefin
Bay.
2:44 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
8:07 a.m., Tofte: Caller said two wedding rings
worth $30,000 are missing following last night’s
domestic altercation at Bluefin.
11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: A parked car was
backed into.
11:39 a.m., Hovland: Trespassing reported.
11:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two guys
in the water at Hungry Jack Lodge for about 45
minutes.
12:33 p.m., Schroeder: Loud explosion heard on
Cramer Road.
1:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Docks on the west side
of the harbor were floating away.
2:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for driving
after revocation and no proof of insurance.
3:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle damage
reported.
4:30 p.m., Lutsen: Wallet left at a business.
6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Parole violator reported.
7:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of flares going
off over the harbor.
7:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller thinks somebody
is hiding out in Birchwood Apartments; it is pitch
black inside.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
2:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he is sick of
being stalked by the sheriff, and there is a deputy
out there watching him now.
2:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about
an idling semi near Super America.
4:49 a.m., Grand Portage: Possible prowler
reported.
7:30 a.m., Schroeder: Caller’s dog went missing
Sunday morning.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: A yellow female Lab
was hanging around a Pike Lake Road residence.
12:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Wolf encounter
reported.
5:40 p.m., Hovland: Caller’s dog went missing
while out hunting near Arrowhead Trail.
9:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller could hear noise
in the next apartment at Birchwood.
Wednesday, Oct. 8
9:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment.
9:24 a.m., Grand Marais: A license plate was
found in the woods and turned in to law
enforcement.
10:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a
vehicle.
3:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Transformer blew near
South Gunflint Lake.

3:31 p.m., Grand Portage: A suspicious package,
about the size of a turkey and all taped up, was
found on Old Highway 61.
4:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a distressed
dog in a car parked near the co-op.
10:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree across Bally
Creek Road.
11:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic altercation.
Thursday, Oct. 9
4:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog attacked by a wolf
at Pincushion Mountain Overlook.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he pulled out
onto the highway and his rear wheel fell off.
9:01 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck by a vehicle.
11:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about
a truck parked near Mangy Moose.
Friday, Oct. 10
2:40 a.m., Grand Portage: Assault.
6:32 a.m., Lutsen: Dead wolf in the northbound
lane of the Caribou Trail.
8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Heavy smell of propane
reported near Gateway Lodge.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: A cat was found
running loose, and brought in to the Law
Enforcement Center.
6:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
6:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats made.
7:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was a
light on inside the Recycling Center and someone
was inside looking around the budget shop.
7:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Sag
Lake Trail.
Saturday, Oct. 11
12:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported a
problem with his neighbor’s kids.
1:38 p.m., Schroeder: A pile of clothes was found
on the side of Cramer Road.
2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog in a locked car
with the windows up and no water.
6:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Toddler sitting by
himself in a parked car near the co-op.
8:03 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy requested for a group
of rowdy guests at Eagle Ridge.
8:29 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy spoke with a
person regarding an ATV accident.
9:54 p.m., Grand Marais: One loud gunshot or
firework went off near Sixth Avenue West.
10:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint
near the radio station.
Sunday, Oct. 12
5:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint
on Harbor View Trail.
9:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone put
items in his yard during the night.

9:26 a.m., Lutsen: Illegal dumping (mattress and
box spring) on Caribou Trail.
1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of papers from a
vehicle.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle damage at
Birchwood Apartments.
7:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Two deer struck by a
vehicle near Kah-Nee-Tah.
8:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Wolf sighting on Sixth
Avenue West.
Monday, Oct. 13
5:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint
on Harbor View Trail.
7:10 a.m., Tofte: Deer struck by a vehicle.
7:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Tenant-landlord
dispute.
7:29 a.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $344
from the C-store.
1:56 p.m., Grand Marais: A purse was damaged
in the X-ray machine at the courthouse.
2:18 p.m., Tofte: Bluefin Bay reported that a golf
cart was missing, and a battery was cut out of a
second cart.
Tuesday, Oct. 14
7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued
for driving after revocation and no proof of
insurance.
12:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Abandoned bike at
Lund’s Motel.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was a
suspicious person on West Fifth Street dressed in
all black with a face mask and a small backpack.
4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible lost hiker
reported from Judge Magney State Park.
Wednesday, Oct. 15
7:30 a.m., Schroeder: State Patrol notified of a
possible drunk driver who went into the ditch
near Sugar Loaf.
9:55 a.m., Lutsen: Caller wanted to know how he
could get back a gun that was left in a house that
was foreclosed on.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a man
with a camera parked in a gray van was out
front watching a woman near the apartments on
Broadway.
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender in the
Senior Center parking lot.
12:28 p.m., Grand Marais: A camera bag and
equipment were found on Artist Point.
3:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard an
explosion on Old Ski Hill Road, and then the
power went out.
3:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Child-custody issue.
9:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of three cars
hot-rodding on County Road 7, and some shots
or fireworks were heard as well.

10:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious vehicle
reported.
11:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint about
idling semis near Super America.
Thursday, Oct. 16
6:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
8:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Fire department
requested at the Port for a commercial truck
leaking fuel.
11:00 a.m., Tofte: Caller wanted to know if there
have been any reports of people getting “roofied”
on the west end at Bluefin Bay.
1:06 p.m., Grand Marais: A broken window was
discovered at Great Expectations School.
2:52 p.m., Hovland: Ambulance called to help a
person who just sawed off part of his thumb.
7:16 p.m., Tofte: Injured deer.
Friday, Oct. 17
11:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a car was
following too closely down the Gunflint Trail.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender at Isak
Hansen’s.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: A credit card was found
in the parking lot at Best Western.
8:23 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
8:50 p.m., Schroeder: Vehicle off the road at mile
marker 74.
Saturday, Oct. 18
12:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller shot and killed
a bear that was attacking their dog on Loon Lake
Road. Conservation officer notified.
1:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost child in Joynes.
3:13 p.m., Grand Marais: A Forest Service
pick-up truck was stuck on Pincushion Trail
about a mile from the overlook.
4:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a small yellow
and tan dog in the ditch at mile marker 116.
5:49 p.m., Grand Portage: Person arrested for
drug charges, and a second person cited for open
bottles and drug violations at the border.
9:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
Sunday, Oct. 19
10:33 a.m., Grand Marais: A smoldering fire was
discovered, just off the beach on the highway.
11:34 a.m., Grand Portage: Dead deer on the lake
side of the highway near mile marker 138.
11:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident at
Holiday.
1:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible overdose.
4:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Wolf seen near the bus
garage.
8:03 p.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was requested
to check on a suspicious van that was parked at
Cornerstone Community Church.
