Monday, Nov. 2
1:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Grand Marais man, 30, for DUI, driving after revocation and open bottle.
8:09 a.m., Grand Marais: A lost wallet was found and returned. It still had all of its contents inside.
3:02 p.m., Grand Marais: A deer with a broken leg was seen near the Rec Park, but was gone when a deputy arrived to dispatch it.
3:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of more firewood being stolen from a site that was targeted before, amounting to at least a pick-up truck’s worth. The owner said he believes he knows who did it.
5:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Chimney fire. 7:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint.
7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Dead deer removed from the highway near Super 8.
Tuesday, Nov. 3
9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a skinny black Lab with a reddish collar running around near the side of the road by the Collision Center, causing a hazard. The dog was gone when a deputy arrived.
4:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Red Ford pick-up found off the road near the stone bridge and Grand Portage Creek.
8:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious man going through a group of mailboxes, reading the mail. Theman said he was looking in the sewer.
Wednesday, Nov. 4
12:36 a.m., Grand Marais: The hospital reported that there was a vehicle by the side ER door, and a body on the ground with a lot of blood around. Deputies found a deceased woman and notified the family.
10:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Father reported that a man has been following his 14-year-old daughter and her 15-year-old friend a lot, and last night was watching them through a window.
Thursday, Nov. 5
12:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a man walked into a house, and said he was just going for a walk. It was later learned that he was an employee of Voyageur Canoe Outfitters and his car broke down.
5:42 a.m., Schroeder: Coal bunker fire, contained but still regarded as dangerous.
8:57 a.m., Schroeder: A Carlton County man, 73, was picked up and arrested on an outstanding warrant.
2:39 p.m., Lutsen: Canoe valued at $1,000 was reported stolen between July and August of this summer.
3:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about speeding logging trucks on Pancore Lake Road. Forest Service notified.
5:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a vehicle left the Holiday parking lot with a 4-year-old child sitting on the person’s lap in the front seat.
Friday, Nov. 6
8:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Investigation of a violation of sex offender on probation.
5:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a big fire near 1821 W. Highway 61. There were no burn permits issued for that area.
6:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a domestic argument.
Saturday, Nov. 7
1:35 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy made a traffic stop, and three males jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the woods. A St. Paul woman, 20, was cited for underage drinking and driving, underage possession of alcohol and open bottle.
3:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that a neighbor was revving an engine for the last 30 minutes. A deputy spoke with them, and it was shut down.
8:30 a.m., Tofte: Reported theft of a small utility trailer from a storage building.
4:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller concerned about his neighbor burning on County Road 14 because embers were flying around. The Colvill Fire Department was called to put out the fire.
8:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a house fire that started in the kitchen. The fire department responded.
Sunday, Nov. 8
5:04 a.m., Tofte: Caller reported he picked up a guy after almost hitting him on the highway, and gave him a ride to Holiday. The guy said he had been jumped and he worked at Bluefin.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Citations were issued by the game warden following an illegal game shooting on Devil Track Road.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious Dodge pick-up going around a gate onto property off County Road 56.
