Monday, Sept. 29
5:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Loon
Lake Road.
9:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Toilet paper on fire last
week in the outhouse, and it melted the plastic.
3:14 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was backed
into at the clinic.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported two
young boys with lots of anger and possible abuse,
and wanted to tell a deputy what he saw.
6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Three-legged husky
running toward Subway. The dog’s owner was
notified.
8:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was lost on a back
road.
9:44 p.m., Schroeder: Citation issued for no proof
of insurance and speeding.

Tuesday, Sept. 30
2:30 a.m., Lutsen: An intoxicated and emotionally
disturbed woman was walking around crying at
Lutsen Resort for the past three hours.
1:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Three drivers cited for
speeding in a school zone.

Wednesday, Oct. 1
8:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Illegal dumping reported
on Pike Lake Road.
1:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller had a bear cub
with a broken leg in his yard.
2:18 p.m., Lutsen: A 17-year-old female was
missing from a group of eight who were hiking
Britton Peak.
4:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage members
reported that they are having a moose hunt on the
reservation. Twelve groups were hunting.

Thursday, Oct. 2
8:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible break-in on
Frank’s Way.
10:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard eight shots
fired on the south side of West Highway 61.
11:56 a.m., Schroeder: A shed on Cramer Road
was broken into and some items were stolen.
3:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run at Gene’s
Foods.
6:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Vandalism (broken
windows) of a boat on East Fifth Street.

Friday, Oct. 3
8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the trees off
the Gunflint Trail.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on Third
Avenue East.
2:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down and blocking
the southbound lane of the Gunflint Trail near the
George Washington Pines.
2:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a car
appeared in his yard last night and he’s unsure
whose it is.
5:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an olderlooking little black car driving recklessly
downtown.
6:08 p.m., Grand Marais: The lift station at the Rec
Park was overflowing.
7:03 p.m., Grand Marais: A car parked near Angry
Trout was backed into.
11:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on
County Road 7.
11:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a
motorist who ran out of gas.

Saturday, Oct. 4
8:57 a.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at Sven &
Ole’s.
12:26 p.m., Grand Portage: Truck in the ditch off
Steven’s Road.
2:06 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a person driving
without a license.
8:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity at
Birchwood Apartments.
10:27 p.m., Grand Marais: A Canada goose was
struck by a vehicle at Cut Face Creek.
10:41 p.m., Grand Portage: An RV pulling a small
car jackknifed near the entrance to the lodge,
blocking the roadway.
11:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of a laptop
reported.

Sunday, Oct. 5
6:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a mediumsize dog, blind and mostly deaf, walking on the
Gunflint Trail.
9:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft of gas reported.
12:11 p.m., Tofte: Wallet found in the ditch near
Bluefin Bay.
1:39 p.m., Hovland: A lawn ornament (chainsawcarved bear) was stolen from a property on
Arrowhead Trail.
2:54 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was backed
into near the donut shop.
10:15 p.m., Tofte: Driver cited for speeding,
expired license and no proof of insurance.
11:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for no
proof of insurance.
