German shepherd running around the

1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm at
Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

with no license plates was seen near the
Co-op.

walking eastbound on the highway near
County Road 60.
8:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint.
9:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet.
4:41 p.m., Grand Portage: False alarm at the
Wellness Center.
5:20 p.m., Schroeder: Car off Sugarloaf Road,
unknown injuries.
7:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog in the road near
Aspen Inn.
Wednesday, Sept. 10
12:25 a.m., Tofte: Possible trespassing.
6:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Two horses in
neighbor’s yard on County Road 7.
7:16 a.m., Schroeder: Caller said there was
a kayak in the lake, possibly with bags in it,
but unable to see if there was a person or just
bags.
3:13 p.m., Grand Portage: Hit-and-run in the
parking lot at Grand Portage State Park.
5:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree on a power line
on Devil Track Road.
Thursday, Sept. 11
12:12 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said the
doors were open when he came home, and
nobody was inside but he was nervous. A
deputy was requested to check the area.
7:32 a.m., Grand Marais: A window at the
Community Center was broken with a rock.
8:57 a.m., Tofte: Caller said someone was
passed out sleeping in the warming shack on
the Oberg Mountain Hiking Trail.
9:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A credit card was
found at Joynes.
9:49 a.m., Grand Marais: A stray hound was
picked up at Mangy Moose Motel.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Chainsaw reported
missing from the back of a pick-up truck.
1:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Vandalism (blue
paint) on the high school baseball field.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal dumping in
the Cross River brush pit.
7:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats reported.
8:54 p.m., Grand Marais: A tabby cat was
found on South Shore Drive.
9:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Black bear struck by
a vehicle on the highway.
10:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a man
is walking around and functioning, but is
acting very strangely. It may be an issue with
his meds.

11:30 a.m., Grand Portage: Child custody
issue.
11:53 a.m., Lutsen: A phone was found along
the highway near mile marker 92.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a parked
car with a panting dog inside near Joynes.
5:07 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a driver going
through the stop lights near Cross River
Heritage Center.
Saturday, Sept. 13
4:16 a.m., Schroeder: A child was left in a
vehicle to sleep.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a car
crashed into an oncoming vehicle at mile
marker 98.
8:42 a.m., Grand Marais: A wallet and purse
were found near the water tower.
1:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of gunshots.
2:42 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog ran over the
edge of the old dump at Pincushion.
3:44 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said that about 25
yards west of the steel gate going into the
gravel pit on Caribou Trail are about a dozen
pair of bird feet, may be a bald eagle.
5:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic
altercation.
6:06 p.m., Tofte: Grass fire in the lake side
ditch.
Sunday, Sept. 14
6:03 a.m., Grand Marais: A coyote was
removed from the Gunflint Trail.
10:49 a.m., Grand Portage: A man stated he
was stuck in the woods for five days behind
Teal Lake, looking for the highway.
11:48 a.m., Grand Portage: Possible human
trafficking at the old port of entry.
1:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a badly
injured sea gull on the highway near Birch
Terrace. Referred to State Patrol.
Monday, Sept. 15
7:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a popping
sound, followed by a power outage, on the
Gunflint Trail.
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver stopped in
the Law Enforcement Center to report gravel
on the roadway.
8:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller believed gas
was siphoned from his truck.
8:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic
disturbance at Pincushion Overlook.
8:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Order for Protection
violation at Birchwood Apartments.
Tuesday, Sept. 16
6:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Wallet found at the
Laundromat.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: An iPhone was
found.
6:47 p.m., Schroeder: Caller expressed
concern about a black BMW that has been
parked at the Tac Harbor marina for about a
week.
7:11 p.m., Grand Marais: A small wolf was
seen running from the Care Center across
West Fifth Street.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
1:38 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic stop and driver cited
for no proof of insurance.
9:37 a.m., Schroeder: Theft of a generator
reported.
9:39 a.m., Lutsen: Car-truck accident near Ski
Hill Road.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to
advise the county about the 200 feet of pipe,
three feet in diameter, lost in Lake Superior.
2:55 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm on
West Fifth Street.
6:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a
person yelling at and lightly touching her at
the Community Center.
8:09 p.m., Grand Marais: The back window
was broken out of a vehicle on First Avenue
West.
10:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
are a bunch of traffic cones knocked all over
the road near Cascade Lodge.
Thursday, Sept. 18
12:19 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
7:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Another rock was
thrown through the window at the 4-H
building. The tennis court building was also
broken, as was the back window of a van on
West Third Street.
1:11 p.m., Lutsen: Report of an unmanned
16-foot boat drifting.
3:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller saw a small
gray dog run out the doors at the hospital.
4:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller found glass
all over the inside of his garage on North
Broadway, with a small side window broken
out.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for
driving after revocation.
10:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint
about two idling semis near Super America.
Friday, Sept. 19
9:08 a.m., Grand Marais: A black Scottie was
running around near Aspen Lodge.
10:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he hit a
wolf last night on the Gunflint Trail.
12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a pick-up
truck with a trailer traveling on the highway,
dropping boards with nails and strips of
Styrofoam.
4:20 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a couple guys
walking down Onion River Road, about 300-
400 yards apart. They requested that the police
be called, as there is a “situation.”
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a manhole
cover off near the liquor store, posing a
hazardous situation.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for
passing in a no passing zone, and warned for
speeding.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and
injured by a vehicle off the Gunflint Trail.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
prowler.
Saturday, Sept. 20
12:04 p.m., Grand Marais: A trailer hit the
awning of the restaurant at Cascade Lodge.
1:53 p.m., Grand Marais: The window was
missing at the Lions garage behind the high
school.
4:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there is
a drunk girl standing on the edge of the cliff at
the old border crossing on the U.S. side.
8:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller witnessed a
hit-and-run outside the GunFlint Tavern.
10:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog with a leash
ran into the woods and is trapped, and won’t
quit barking.
Sunday, Sept. 21
4:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint
from the campground.
6:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a
large vehicle parked on the side of Croftville
Road.
9:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a side
door at the post office was open.
10:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke
coming from the windows of a house near the
credit union.
11:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard loud
female screams several times on Clearwater
Road.
11:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
stranded female motorist with a dog outside
the Outpost.
