2:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he just got home, and
there’s a car parked in his yard.
3:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone got into his
vehicle over the weekend and rifled through everything. It
doesn’t appear anything has been taken.
4:24 p.m., Grand Marais: A game warden was notified after a
bear was struck and injured by a vehicle on County Road 7.
Tuesday, Aug. 19
4:25 a.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs requested deputy
assistance for some suspicious activity.
9:13 a.m., Tofte: False alarm at Bluefin Cove.
9:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Illegal dumping. Renters have been
told to pick up the garbage.
1:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited for expired driver’s
license after his vehicle went into the ditch off the Gunflint
Trail.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible domestic disturbance at the
Outpost Motel.
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Security alarm at the courthouse
determined to be false.
4:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a fire behind a house on
East Fifth Street.
Wednesday, Aug. 20
2:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of people in an empty
apartment at Birchwood.
8:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Stray dog wandering on Fourth
Avenue West.
8:46 a.m., Tofte: Scam phone call reported.
11:42 a.m., Schroeder: Campers reported that items were
stolen from their campsite at Temperance River State Park.
2:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A chainsaw was found in the middle
of the highway near Third Avenue West.
8:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity on Taylor Lane.
Thursday, Aug. 21
10:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Four horses loose on
County Road 7.
11:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a pit party on County
Road 14. The caller said tires were burned and a vehicle was
stuck in a mud hole.
12:03 p.m., Tofte: Caller said somebody went into his home
and answered the phone.
1:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats made.
1:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there were some horses
with no food on Brandon Lane.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-car accident at West First
Street-Second Street.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats reported.
9:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s vehicle was locked and
running at Holiday.

4:14 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a deputy was shining a
light toward his home.
5:08 a.m., Grand Portage: Lost wallet.
6:19 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said someone took his truck
and will not return it.
9:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost purse.
12:35 p.m., Lutsen: Lost dog on Ski Hill Road.
2:54 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller asked that an unwanted
person be removed from her property.
2:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller again reported that there are
starving horses on Brandon Lane.
4:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller complained about smoke
coming from Sydney’s pizza oven.
5:15 p.m., Schroeder: Game warden contacted after an eagle
was struck and injured on the highway.

missing on West First Street.

reported missing on Fifth Avenue West.
12:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about smoke downtown
near Cobblestone Cove.

Road.
