Monday, Aug. 11
12:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy out
checking on a vehicle at the post office,
followed by downtown business checks.
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost camera at
the Rec Park.
11:05 a.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at
the school.
11:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Found debit
card.
12:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A purse was
found in the restroom at the Trading Post.
2:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Rollover on the
Gunflint Trail, three miles down from
Bearskin.
4:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a
vehicle on Highway 61.
5:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on
West First Street.
5:37 p.m., Grand Portage: False alarm at
the credit union.
6:03 p.m., Hovland: Motorist assist at
mile marker 128.
6:04 p.m., Tofte: Suspicious activity
reported at the bank. A pick-up truck has
been sitting in the lot for 20 minutes.
Tuesday, Aug. 12
9:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Property
damage at Harbor House Grille.
10:12 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch off
Caribou Trail.
11:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Hot-rodding
complaint at Ball Club Road/the Grade.
2:45 p.m., Tofte: Call from people who
said they were lost in the woods, can you
help us? They said they went on a road
and it turned into a trail.
3:28 p.m., Lutsen: False alarm at Caribou
Highlands.
5:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked
that a deputy remove some guns from
a camping trailer so nobody gets into
trouble.
6:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing dog
reported on West Ninth Street.
Wednesday, Aug. 13
9:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
Someone broke into a boat and stole
fishing rods.
11:46 a.m., Grand Portage: Theft of cash
reported, but cancelled after the money
was found.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Altercation
about to take place at Gene’s Foods.
1:16 p.m., Lutsen: Theft from a garage on
Ski Hill Road reported.
2:35 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said
someone stole solar lights from his flower
garden.
2:45 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats made.
5:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead
dog floating in the harbor.
9:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost
hiker on Caribou Rock Trail.
11:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about kids at the skate park after hours.
11:38 p.m., Tofte: Power outage on
Sawbill Trail.
Thursday, Aug. 14
7:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost camera
reported.
1:34 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a vehicle in
the ditch off the Grade, sinking in water.
2:24 p.m., Lutsen: Lost motorcycle plate
reported.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Wallet found at
the skate park.

3:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said it
looks like his neighbor’s six horses are out
again on County Road 6.
6:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Small puppy
wandering around the school playground.
6:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
is a German shepherd in the back end of
a Jeep, baring its teeth.
7:37 p.m., Hovland: Caller said a
suspicious vehicle backed into his
driveway and quickly left.
7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Keys locked in a
vehicle at the hospital.
8:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing dog on
Second Avenue West.
9:29 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Bluefin.
9:31 p.m., Hovland: Gunshots heard on
Flute Reed Road.
11:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible meth
overdose reported.
Friday, Aug. 15
9:59 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said
someone was selling $40 bindles of meth,
driving a newer vehicle.
12:10 p.m., Tofte: Suspicious person in a
vehicle.
2:35 p.m., Grand Portage: Broken window
reported.
4:42 p.m., Hovland: Caller said there was
a suspicious person asking suspicious
questions at Chicago Bay Marketplace.
11:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a
disturbance.
Saturday, Aug. 16
12:07 a.m., Lutsen: Caller heard a woman
screaming after she got out of a car.
8:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet
reported.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
were some dogs left in a van at Buck’s
Hardware for about 45 minutes, with the
windows down only about an inch. They
didn’t seem happy.
6:12 p.m., Lutsen: Possible fire on Clara
Lake Road.
8:50 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a
guy stole his truck, but parked it at the
Trading Post. The only thing missing
from the truck was his sister.
9:48 p.m., Grand Portage: Man arrested
on a Hennepin County warrant after he
was stopped for speeding up and down
Townsite Road.
Sunday, Aug. 17
7:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
there’s been a wolf hanging around the
300 block of Eighth Avenue West.
8:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm
at Dairy Queen. An employee didn’t have
the proper code.
9:15 a.m., Schroeder: Caller said his
kayak was either stolen or washed away
by the waves last night.
10:26 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said
there was a man with some stuff lying at
the end of his driveway. The man moved
when the caller drove up the driveway, so
he’s alive, but the caller is not sure what’s
going on.
3:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of theft
of items from a vehicle.
4:59 p.m., Schroeder: Fire in the dust
collector at the power plant.
6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Predatory
offender registration.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of theft
of items from a vehicle.
7:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of theft
of items from a vehicle.
