Monday, July 14
12:26 a.m., Lutsen: Noise complaint about a party on the
beach near Lutsen Resort.
10:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity reported
at the lodge.
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a tow truck
driver who was pulling a vehicle out of the ditch on
Round Lake Road.
11:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on Moose Pond
Drive, blocking the road.
12:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Animal welfare complaint on
Mineral Center Road.
9:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Abandoned vehicle off the
highway near Magney State Park. The vehicle had South
Dakota plates, the keys were on the dash, there was no
battery and a sign said “free.”
Tuesday, July 15
9:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a white poodle with
a purple collar ran into the house.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
4:34 p.m., Grand Marais: A pick-up truck went into the
ditch off the highway at mile marker 98.
6:14 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a strong propane smell
inside a house.
Wednesday, July 16
12:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle off the Gunflint Trail.
7:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle theft reported.
7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Two women in a vehicle with
Iowa plates took off from South of the Border without
paying their $17 bill.
3:00 p.m., Tofte: Report of a cyber-crime.
6:23 p.m., Grand Marais: I-pod found.
11:52 p.m., Grand Marais: A drunk person was banging
on a door and making threats at Gofer Cabins.
Thursday, July 17
1:21 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a dog locked in a hot car.
1:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Employee conduct
investigation.
9:34 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Surfside.
Friday, July 18
7:08 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a horse has been in
her back yard since 5:30 this morning.
10:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two shots on
County Road 60.
10:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Two RVs were camping in a
no camping area off Sag Lake Trail.
Saturday, July 19
12:14 a.m., Grand Marais: A squad car hit a moose on
the Gunflint Trail.
6:21 a.m., Hovland: Caller on Moose Valley Road said
there have been problems with his power since the fiber
optic lines were put in.
2:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a snowmobile
trailer was blocking County Road 6.
6:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about loud kids and
a smell of marijuana on the beach at the Rec Park.
7:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Driver arrested for DWI.
8:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about smoke in the
area of Nelson’s Traveler’s Rest, possibly from the Rec
Park.
10:02 p.m., Schroeder: Illegal fireworks complaint.
Sunday, July 20
1:56 p.m., Grand Marais: A black satchel with two iPads
was lost somewhere in town.
5:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal camping reported.
6:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a horse tied to a
truck in the road on Brandon Lane.
