Monday, Oct. 26

10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a threatening message was left on the caller’s cell phone.

10:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that someone has been living off of a frontage road for about two weeks, and a deputy was requested to check on the person and see if it was legal. A vehicle was parked there.

12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Two juvenile males were cited for tobacco use by a minor.

7:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Officer requested at Gofer Cabins after a man found some of his tools that he said were stolen.

Tuesday, Oct. 27

5:48 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested at the lodge because of an intoxicated man who was banging on hotel room doors and wanting to fight people.

2:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to check property on Mile O Pine to see if damage was caused by the recent storm, or if it was vandalism.

2:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Homeowner reported that over 100 pounds of copper plumbing fittings have been taken from the basement, which is kept unlocked.

Wednesday, Oct. 28

9:21 a.m., Hovland: Caller reported that he heard some moaning and groaning out in the woods, and spent a few hours walking around whistling and calling out to see if anyone was in need of assistance, but found no one. He asked that Search & Rescue come out and look some more.

4:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit and run damage to a vehicle parked in the post office lot.

6:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to check out a strong odor of smoke between Lullaby Creek and the North Brule bridge.

8:06 p.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance requested for a youngster who was having an allergic reaction to the H1N1 shot he had earlier in the day.

Thursday, Oct. 29

2:54 p.m., Lutsen: Lutsen Resort asked to speak with a deputy regarding kids trespassing and using the swimming pool.

3:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a flat-bed semi parked on County Road 7 with its flashers on, creating a hazard due to the fog. A deputy assisted with traffic control while equipment was loaded.

6:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a domestic argument taking place on Highway 61 near Kimball Creek. The caller said a woman ran out from a vehicle parked on the side of the road yelling something about “him coming after her.”

Friday, Oct. 30

4:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Rock slide reported on the highway at the S curve near Terrace Point.

9:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on the highway, blocking both lanes, near Cascade Lodge.

Saturday, Oct. 31

8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Pumpkin stolen off a front porch sometime overnight.

12:09 p.m., Grand Marais: A 12-year-old had her clavicle broken in a scuffle with a 14-year-old.

2:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint that the large spruce tree in front of the Johnson Heritage Post split, and was a hazard.

3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Power lines down on the highway near Cutface Creek.

Sunday, Nov. 1

1:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a domestic argument, reportedly over lost money at the bar.

9:55 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove the caller’s estranged wife from the residence. The caller said she refuses to leave, and apparently came over just to argue. She left when the deputy arrived.

10:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a small green pickup driving down the snowmobile trail where it crosses Devil Track Lake Road. Game warden notified.

2:39 p.m., Schroeder: Report that someone busted out the back window of a vehicle.

5:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured deer in the middle of the highway at mile marker 138.
