Monday, June 16
8:21 a.m., Grand Marais: A white with brown spots longhaired cat was meowing behind Sven & Ole’s. Referred to
Animal Advocates.
8:39 a.m., Grand Marais: A little dog was back again in a
yard on Seventh Avenue West.
11:01 a.m., Grand Marais: A person wanted on a warrant
turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Center.
11:40 a.m., Grand Marais: The caller said he now has the
cat that was behind Sven’s, and if someone is looking for
the cat, they should call him.
1:10 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation for speeding issued.
1:20 p.m., Grand Marais: A toolbox fell out of a vehicle
somewhere between Grand Marais and Lutsen.
1:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said two 8-year-old boys
were trying to throw their bike into the water at Artist
Point and leave it there.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation for speeding
issued.
2:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his ID and wallet
were stolen.
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone is
dumping rocks or boulders on his property on Fall River
Road, and he thinks it was a yellow county truck.
4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone outage at Voyageur
Canoe Outfitters.
5:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of possibly feral cats
hanging out behind Birchwood Apartments.
6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
6:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about dogs running
in the road and chasing people near the Gunflint Motel.
9:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of several tents on the
beach.
Tuesday, June 17
2:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation for speeding
issued.
3:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation for speeding
issued.
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a missing 5-year-old
boy at Cascade River State Park.
3:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported at Gofer
Cabins.
4:09 p.m., Grand Marais: ATV complaint.
7:05 p.m., Grand Marais: A loose golden retriever was
caught and tied to the door of the ACA.
Wednesday, June 18
6:37 a.m., Grand Portage: A wrong-turn Canadian
woman was cited by Customs at the border for
possession of more than 1.4 grams of marijuana.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she heard kids
outside around midnight, and heard a sound of
something hitting something.
1:55 p.m., Tofte: Drive-off from Holiday.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: A speed limit sign on the
Gunflint was hit and is now bent over.
3:59 p.m., Hovland: Two-vehicle accident.
4:28 p.m., Tofte: Birch tree down and blocking part of
the Sawbill Trail.
7:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog owner cited for dog off the
leash after a large German shepherd charged someone
near the courthouse.
8:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle near
mile marker 108.
9:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone was
dumping tires behind the Aspen Inn.
Thursday, June 19
5:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle on
Mile Creek Road.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: A truck and boat went into the
ditch in the construction zone near mile marker 97.
9:23 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a cow moose with two
albino calves on the lake side of the highway at mile
marker 73.
Friday, June 20
10:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
10:54 a.m., Tofte: Deputy assistance requested at
Crescent Lake Campground to help remove a 13-yearold boy who was acting up and could become dangerous.
11:20 a.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle at
mile marker 147.
11:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of damage on Cascade
Beach Road, an 18-inch diameter hole, creating a hazard
about a foot deep.
Saturday, June 21
12:38 a.m., Hovland: Report of kids partying at the
gravel pit on Irish Creek Road.
12:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Keys, a jacket and a key fob
were found at the Trading Post.
2:33 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of possible drug
trafficking.
11:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an intoxicated
woman walking in the street near Sixth Avenue West-
West Third Street.
Sunday, June 22
12:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued for no
proof of insurance and expired tabs.
12:34 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of an intoxicated
driver.
4:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a person sitting at the
front door at Holiday.
9:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A beagle went missing while
hiking up Eagle Mountain.
10:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about speeding on
Cascade Beach Road.
1:32 p.m., Grand Marais: A couple who planned
a wedding at a local business stopped in the Law
Enforcement Center and said they just heard that the
business is shutting down. They have already made down
payments on everything, and they want to know what to
do. They were advised it is a civil matter.
3:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A black Scottish terrier was
found about two miles west of town.
5:55 p.m., Grand Marais: A silver truck was in the ditch
near Isak Hansen’s.
6:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a Volkswagen van
with expired tabs at Best Western.
