2:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarm at a Devil Track Road
residence.
12:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle off Mile Creek Road
near the C-store.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing text messages
reported.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle passed a plow on the
corner of Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue, and went into the
ditch.
2:45 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a guy walking down the
Caribou Trail with a suitcase and backpack, who said
he was chopping maple trees and needed a ride to get to
Caribou Cream.
3:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Drury Lane Books closed for the
day because they had no water.
11:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch on the
upper side of the highway.
Tuesday, Feb. 18
6:05 a.m., Hovland: Vehicle was parked in the school bus
turnaround space on Caspers Hill Road.
7:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle was blocking the fire
hydrant on Fourth Avenue West.
8:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender on West Third
Street and Fifth Avenue West. No injuries reported.
11:10 a.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle in the ditch off the
highway.
11:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two dogs running up
the Gunflint Trail north of the Pines.
11:40 a.m., Hovland: A disabled plow truck was blocking
part of the highway near the Town Hall.
1:26 p.m., Grand Marais: A car slid off the Gunflint Trail
and into a snow bank. No injuries.
4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint about the
number of vehicles near the library, impeding traffic.
8:25 p.m., Tofte: Power outage.
Wednesday, Feb. 19
9:39 a.m., Lutsen: Theft of skis and poles reported at
Lutsen Mountains.
12:48 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats reported.
11:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A dead deer was removed from
the roadway at mile marker 94.
Thursday, Feb. 20
5:43 a.m., Tofte: Burglar alarm at Coho Café was set off by
the cleaning service.
3:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Three horses loose on County
Road 7.
10:52 p.m., Grand Marais: A semi wrecked near Cascade
River State Park.
Friday, Feb. 21
12:38 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
23-year-old woman with a head injury.
6:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal garbage dumping
reported.
6:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer in the middle of the road at
mile marker 97.
Saturday, Feb. 22
4:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is an unknown
guy outside pounding on the door, saying he’s been
walking for 12 miles.
4:55 a.m., Lutsen: Two deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 87, totaling the vehicle.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a deer was stuck on
the ice near Five Mile Rock.
11:00 a.m., Grand Portage: Report that a phone line was
down and across Store Road.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a deer was hit and is
now in his yard dying.
9:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Chimney fire on Cascade Beach
Road.
Sunday, Feb. 23
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of items from a logging
sale on Wringer Lake Road reported.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to let the county
know that there are large snow drifts on the Gunflint Trail
near the moose viewing area.
7:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a guy jogging up
the Gunflint Trail in the southbound lane, wearing dark
clothing. The caller was concerned he may be hit by a
vehicle.
7:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible overdose reported.
