Monday, Jan. 6
11:15 a.m., Grand Portage: A vehicle was stuck on a
snowmobile trail across from the old rest area.
2:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller had problems with a CO
detector.
8:37 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
9:10 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at Johnson’s Foods.
9:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic argument.
Tuesday, Jan. 7
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A person was taken into custody
for a probation violation.
4:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said kids were playing on
the large snow pile across from Sydney’s and getting snow
all over the road.
4:47 p.m., Grand Portage: False alarm at the Wellness
Center.
5:11 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at Sivertson’s
Gallery.
6:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard what sounded like
shots near Super America.
8:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove an
unwanted person.
10:48 p.m., Schroeder: Power outage.
Wednesday, Jan. 8
7:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the Border
Patrol station.
1:27 p.m., Grand Marais: A car was parked in the middle
of Morgan Road, blocking where the snow plow needs to
go.
4:24 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
5:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Truck rolled over on its side at
mile marker 146. No injuries reported.
8:00 p.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was requested at the
courthouse because a person who was unhappy after the
Planning & Zoning meeting kept driving around in the
parking lot.
Thursday, Jan. 9
6:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a burning smell
and said the thermostat was hissing since 4 a.m.
10:01 a.m., Lutsen: A husky was found near Murmur
Creek.
5:18 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Surfside.
Friday, Jan. 10
10:08 a.m., Grand Portage: False hold-up alarm at the
C-store.
10:28 p.m., Schroeder: Deputy dispatched an injured deer.
11:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy dispatched a deer near
Croftville Road.
Saturday, Jan. 11
2:47 a.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle in the ditch off Mile
Creek Road.
6:09 a.m., Grand Portage: Property damage reported.
10:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-car accident near Hall
Road. One vehicle rolled over in the ditch.
3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Someone went off the state trail
and hit a tree near Willard Lane. Possible broken bones.
5:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Two lost snowmobilers at
Cascade River Road-Pike Lake Road.
7:10 p.m., Tofte: A storage bin with wood inside was on
fire near a house, and a passerby worried it would catch
the house on fire.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Some type of alarm has been
going off near the radio station for the last few hours.
8:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol with
a traffic stop.
9:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a black dog showed
up at her door.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her neighbor’s dog
has been tied up outside since 1 p.m. and wondered if
someone could go check on it.
Sunday, Jan. 12
6:14 a.m., Lutsen: Domestic argument at Papa Charlie’s
parking lot. The caller said it wasn’t out of control, but
people were acting ridiculous.
7:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
8:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested a permit to pick
up a road-killed deer at Cutface Creek.
11:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a wandering blackand white dog on West First Street.
11:35 a.m., Lutsen: Car in the ditch, no injuries reported.
The driver climbed out of the vehicle.
