Monday, Dec. 30
8:55 a.m., Grand Marais: False motion alarm at a
Bearskin Lake residence.
9:57 a.m., Lutsen: Parked vehicles were blocking
White Sky Trail, preventing the plow truck from going
through.
10:48 a.m., Lutsen: Report of a wallet stolen from a boot
bag at Lutsen Mountains.
11:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch near the
water tower.
1:31 p.m., Lutsen: A car was damaged by a hit-and-run
driver at Caribou Highlands.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller found a pager clipped to
a tree branch and figured it belonged to a firefighter.
4:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Domestic disturbance.
10:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Chimney fire on Eighth
Avenue West.
Tuesday, Dec. 31
5:04 a.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs requested a
deputy at the port to help with an intoxicated driver.
10:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:56 a.m., Tofte: Abandoned vehicle about 45 minutes
up the Sawbill Trail. There were footprints going toward
town, but nobody around.
11:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Water flow alarm at the
warehouse at the national monument. Staff was
contacted.
7:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to remove a
person from the Community Center who was asked to
leave and appears to be “on” something.
7:47 p.m., Lutsen: A skid steer was broke down on
Caribou Trail, blocking half the lane.
8:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch on Fall
River Road.
Wednesday, Jan. 1
12:57 a.m., Hovland: Caller heard shots on the road and
went out to check it out, but did not see anything.
3:53 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch at mile marker 91.
9:48 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin. They were
cooking bacon.
10:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch near
Windigo.
4:31 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to check
out a vehicle that’s been parked in the lodge’s parking lot
since Dec. 23.
4:44 p.m., Lutsen: Suspicious person at Lutsen
Mountains.
5:23 p.m., Lutsen: Possible underage drinking reported
at the pool at Eagle Ridge.
Thursday, Jan. 2
10:16 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove
an unwanted person from a house.
12:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said somebody passed
him this morning on Devil Track Road, slowed down
nearly stopping in front of him, and then sped off.
7:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost iPhone reported.
8:21 p.m., Hovland: Caller said a man who looked
suspicious got stuck in his (caller’s) driveway, pulled the
vehicle out and left in an unknown direction.
Friday, Jan. 3
1:14 a.m., Lutsen: Loud noise complaint from Eagle
Ridge.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Two cars in the ditch at
Gunflint Trail-Fifth Avenue West. There were no
apparent injuries, but someone was standing outside
with a shovel.
10:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible identity theft
reported.
12:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Fire alarm at the C-store.
12:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that an older
Saturn has been running since before 9 a.m. on South
Broadway, and no one knows whose it is.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of a credit card reported.
3:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Car stuck in the roadway near
Gunflint Condos.
4:52 p.m., Lutsen: Several cars in the ditch off Ski Hill
Road. The Highway Department was notified.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off Fall
River Road.
11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at County
Road 7-Highway 61. State Patrol notified.
Saturday, Jan. 4
12:09 a.m., Lutsen: Caller picked up a person who was
on the side of Ski Hill Road, and believed he was on
something, but not drunk.
1:06 p.m., Lutsen: Caribou Highlands work truck
backed into a parked vehicle.
2:24 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
an 18-year-old girl with multiple breaks in her right leg,
arm and wrist.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch three miles
south of Swamper Lake on the Gunflint Trail.
9:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she keeps hearing a
dog whimpering outside.
Sunday, Jan. 5
2:55 a.m., Lutsen: Motorist assist at Lutsen Resort.
8:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a motorist outside
his vehicle at the Rock Cut.
6:04 p.m., Grand Marais: The heat was out at Security
State Bank.
10:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a dog has
been left out.
10:23 p.m., Tofte: Caller said his off-peak heat has not
come back on, and it’s 50 degrees inside.
