7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: The grader couldn’t get
through to plow Second Avenue West/West Third Street
due to cars parked on both sides. Assistance requested.
8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle parked in the driving
lane on West Fourth Street.
9:33 a.m., Tofte: Ambulance called to Bluefin Bay after a
50-year-old woman fell from a loft.
12:49 p.m., Hovland: Deer struck and injured by a
vehicle on Tamarack Trail.
3:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail, posing a traffic hazard.
3:20 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that kids are going on
top of the gazebo at Elder housing every afternoon and
banging around with shovels.
5:51 and 6:49 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarms at Bluefin.
6:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle stalled in the
northbound lane of the highway near mile marker 94.
7:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost iPhone reported.
Tuesday, Dec. 24
12:31 a.m., Hovland: Vehicle in the ditch and way off
the road. There were footprints, but nobody around.
1:00 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch near Mink Ranch
Road.
2:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident, no
injuries.
5:24 p.m., Schroeder: Report of an upside-down vehicle
in the ditch at the county line.
11:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she saw a man
standing in her back yard, about two feet from the door.
Wednesday, Dec. 25
1:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at a
residence to remove an unwanted person who was
belligerent and intoxicated.
7:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Attempted theft of a
snowmobile and trailer reported.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a county car in
the courthouse lot had spray paint graffiti on it.
2:34 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
19-year-old man with a head and neck injury.
8:31 p.m., Tofte: Domestic dispute.
Thursday, Dec. 26
1:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about illegal
snowmobile use on County Road 53.
4:47 p.m., Grand Portage: Customs was requested to
check the Pigeon River after a woman couldn’t find her
grandson who was out fishing in the area.
7:57 p.m., Grand Marais: False burglar alarm at Security
State Bank.
8:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he hit a moose on
the Gunflint Trail near Ernest Lake, but the animal was
not injured.
10:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Harassment reported.
11:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured dog,
possibly a rottweiler, in the parking lot near Stone
Harbor.
Friday, Dec. 27
11:12 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a 52-year-old woman with a leg injury.
1:27 p.m., Hovland: Vehicle rollover on the Arrowhead
Trail.
5:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said two dogs have
been wandering all day on Old Shore Road.
6:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail near Tucker Lake Road. The driver
swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle that was
stopped in the road because the driver was watching a
moose.
7:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a clanging
sound coming from the towers on Cougar Trail, and
thinks something may be wrong.
Saturday, Dec. 28
3:55 a.m., Hovland: Caller said two kids came to his
door and asked to use the phone because their car
broke down.
11:15 a.m., Lutsen: Report that a guy has been going
through the main lodge at Caribou Highlands, trying to
open doors.
11:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Golden retriever on the
highway.
2:07 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a “big crash” on Mogen
Run at Lutsen Mountains, and an unresponsive man.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost hikers at Cascade Park
needed help in getting to their cars.
7:39 p.m., Tofte: Fire alarm at Bluefin was due to
burned food.
8:39 p.m., Schroeder: Report of arcing power lines on
Cramer Road.
8:46 p.m., Tofte: Deer struck and killed at mile marker
75.
10:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that the stop sign was
down at Second Street-Fifth Avenue West.
10:32 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch near Lockport.
Sunday, Dec. 29
10:52 a.m., Lutsen: A parked vehicle was hit in the lot at
Caribou Highlands. The driver left, but another witness
left a note with the information.
7:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was a person
passed out in front of Joynes. He was breathing and had
a dog with him.
8:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a black Lab was
running near Fourth Avenue West and Highway 61,
heading west, and is now just kind of hanging out on
the sidewalk.
9:44 p.m., Tofte: Carbon monoxide detector going off at
a residence.
