Monday, Dec. 9
9:36 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller struck a deer last
night about six miles from the border and requested a
report.
6:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed on the
highway near Bents Road.
8:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a person on the
upper side of the highway near Bethany Drive. The
person was gone when a deputy arrived.
9:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Kelly’s Hill.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
4:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at County
Roads 6-7.
11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle parked on a snow
bank near Cascade Lodge.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer near mile
marker 95, needs to be dispatched.
11:09 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
Wednesday, Dec. 11
9:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Motorist assist.
10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was
concerned about his neighbor’s dog out in the cold
weather.
11:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a drunk driver
leaving town and heading toward the hospital.
Thursday, Dec. 12
1:20 a.m., Hovland: Caller had no heat in his house.
3:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her space heater
was smelling and melted the plug. She unplugged it
and did not want the fire department, but will call the
landlord.
8:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost keys reported.
9:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a strong propane
smell the last couple mornings near Radio Shack.
11:42 a.m., Lutsen: Disabled vehicle on the side of
Caribou Trail.
9:29 p.m., Lutsen: Report of possible underage
drinking and suspicious activity.
9:54 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a dead deer on the
highway near mile marker 92 that’s been hit several
times.
Friday, Dec. 13
8:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lot of smoke in
the area of the radio station.
3:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious person
walking around a residence on Nickolay Lane.
7:02 p.m., Lutsen: Report of an intoxicated man who
went into a ditch on Caribou Trail.
11:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was no heat
at Harborview Apartments and it was very cold.
Saturday, Dec. 14
8:02 a.m., Schroeder: Car stuck in a snowbank on
Beacon Hill Drive.
9:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle parked on the
shoulder of Lindskog Road, creating a traffic hazard.
10:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a neighbor
who doesn’t take proper care of his dogs in the cold
weather.
11:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch near
Grand Marais Motors.
12:40 p.m., Grand Marais: A black Scotty was found at
the post office.
6:48 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and injured near
Caribou Trail.
8:47 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
10:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Truck in the ditch near
Cascade.
Sunday, Dec. 15
12:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the
GunFlint Tavern after an assault.
4:52 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault reported.
8:20 a.m., Grand Marais: A parked vehicle was nicked
by the grader on First Avenue West.
9:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was a guy
wearing a brown jacket, no gloves and walking slow on
First Avenue East.
3:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Car in the ditch at mile
marker 106.
6:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed near
Croftville Road.
9:50 p.m., Lutsen: Driver said he swerved to avoid a
deer and went into the ditch at Superior National.
