Monday, Nov. 4
1:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was bumped by a black
Suburban at the intersection of Second Avenue West and
West Third Street while out running. The vehicle did not
stop.
3:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported at the
highway department.
4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: A guest at Cascade Lodge did
over $1,000 worth of damage to one of the cabins.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: A tree was hanging over the
road at George Washington Pines.
6:07 p.m., Grand Portage: Harassing phone calls reported.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Prank phone calls reported.
Tuesday, Nov. 5
5:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity. The caller
said she heard someone outside on the front porch, then
got a funny phone call from someone with an accent who
then hung up. The caller was scared and wanted a deputy
to check it out.
8:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he struck and injured
a bald eagle near Manitou Trail.
4:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway near Beargrease Crossing.
Wednesday, Nov. 6
7:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on
Devil Track Road near Thoreson’s Pit.
11:03 a.m., Grand Portage: Vandalism reported on a truck
that was parked on Store Road.
11:37 a.m., Grand Marais: A person was arrested at the
high school following an investigation of a suspicious text
message.
11:56 a.m., Grand Marais: A set of keys was found on
Second Avenue West and West Third Street.
Thursday, Nov. 7
3:51 a.m., Grand Marais: The caller said there was a
suspicious vehicle on his driveway which has now left and
headed west.
8:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Two dogs, both black, were
running loose on Seventh Avenue West.
2:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol with
a DWI arrest.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a dog has
been left in a parked vehicle near the Violence Prevention
Center for over four hours.
8:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A wolf was struck and killed by
a vehicle on Devil Track Road near County Road 6.
Friday, Nov. 8
5:24 a.m., Grand Marais: The Sheriff ’s Department was
notified of a delusional person who has been hanging
around the Grand Marais area.
2:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A battery was stolen from the
Highway Department.
10:13 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch off Caribou Trail.
Saturday, Nov. 9
9:38 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm from Surfside.
Sunday, Nov. 10
2:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his son took off with
friends when he and his wife went to the bar at 11 p.m.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle with a blown tire was
off the roadway near Magney Park, but partially blocking
the lane of traffic.
