Monday, July 1
8:41 a.m., Hovland: Caller said a dirt bike drove by him
on the Camp 20 Road, did a wheelie and threw up rocks,
completely shattering the windshield.
12:49 p.m., Grand Portage: A deputy picked up a dog on
Upper Road.
5:01 p.m., Hovland: Parking complaint. The caller said
there were two vehicles parked on his property.
7:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Two gas drive-offs reported by
the C-Store.
9:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud party complaint near
Holiday.
Tuesday, July 2
1:16 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic disturbance in the
casino.
10:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported his boat was
struck and damaged by another boat while docked in the
marina at the Rec Park.
11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: A small PVC pipe with end
caps that some kids found near the Kadunce River was
turned in at the Law Enforcement Center. Unknown
what the suspicious item is.
Wednesday, July 3
7:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about trucks
hauling gravel from County Road 6 speeding and not
stopping at the stop sign.
2:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of gasoline from an
outside storage tank.
2:46 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck and stuck in the fence
on the lake side ditch near Baraga Cross Road.
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender in the alley
behind the pharmacy.
8:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a drunk driver came
out of the Legion.
8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off from Holiday.
Thursday, July 4
12:54 p.m., Hovland: Report of a lost yellow Lab,
“Sunny.”
1:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a woman just
drove through the Birchwood Apartments parking lot
with three kids hanging off the back of the car, and one
almost fell off.
7:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a four-wheeler and
a dirt bike were driving up and down the parking lot at
Birchwood Apartments and scaring his young daughter.
9:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an underage person
with alcohol at the Rec Park.
9:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that a person who
is very intoxicated to the point of not being able to
function is in his boat tied to the dock at the national
monument.
10:47 p.m., Grand Portage: False fire and smoke alarm at
the national monument housing unit on Store Road.
Friday, July 5
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: A purse containing a passport
was found in the Java Moose parking lot.
9:24 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assistance requested
by U.S. Customs in locating a person who was stopped at
the border earlier in the morning and sent back.
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a man who
made an inappropriate sexual comment to a young
woman at the Rec Park. It was later learned that the man
has done this type of thing before and is possibly having
mental degeneration issues.
1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarm at Sven & Ole’s was
determined to be false.
1:24 p.m., Lutsen: Bear complaint.
4:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a dog fell down in a
ravine near the trailhead at Devil Track.
6:10 p.m., Schroeder: Theft of an i-Pod reported.
6:59 p.m., Grand Portage: A boater hit a rock and may
have damaged the prop between Hat Point and Suzie
Islands. He’s headed to the marina.
7:16 p.m., Grand Marais: report of a black Lab pup
running around loose on Sixth Avenue West.
8:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity at Angry
Trout.
8:18 p.m., Grand Marais: It was learned that a man who
was hired off Angie’s List to help tear down a cabin was
violating his probation by leaving Berrian County. It was
confirmed that he was on adult probation, but they will
not extradite.
10:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint from the
campground.
11:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her grandson ran
off because his girlfriend just broke up with him and he
was upset.
Saturday, July 6
12:58 a.m., Lutsen: Hit-and-run at Lutsen Resort.
8:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarm at Sven & Ole’s.
11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Someone slashed tires on
vehicles overnight on Third Avenue West.
11:35 a.m., Lutsen: Gas drive-off of $38.27 from
Clearview.
1:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible shoplifting reported at
Holiday.
1:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there was very odd/
creepy behavior involving a man with two very young
girls on Trout Lake Road.
6:44 p.m., Hovland: Suspicious activity and possible
underage drinking reported near McFarland Lake
Campground.
10:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a man is playing
tape recordings of kids out his back window at
Birchwood Apartments.
Sunday, July 7
12:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the man at
Birchwood Apartments has now just egged her van in
the parking lot and broken the badminton net.
5:26 a.m., Lutsen: A car was parked behind Lutsen
Resort all night with its flashers on.
4:40 p.m., Lutsen: Caller was having an argument with
his girlfriend and just wanted to get his property and
leave.
