Monday, June 17
2:47 a.m., Grand Portage: The C-Store reported five
gas drive-offs that occurred during the past few days.
8:10 a.m., Grand Portage: Fire alarm on Upper Road.
9:01 a.m., Tofte: Illegal dumping reported. There were
computer parts in the eastbound ditch near mile
marker 85.
3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at the
courthouse to take someone into custody.
4:23 p.m., Tofte: Caller was concerned about someone
driving intoxicated.
8:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Loose dog on Third Avenue
West.
Tuesday, June 18
10:15 a.m., Hovland: Illegal dumping reported. A
couch was left on North Road, and has been there for
two weeks.
10:19 a.m., Grand Marais: A bracelet was lost at the
library.
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found
downtown and turned in to the Law Enforcement
Center.
11:10 a.m., Grand Marais: A loose dog was seen at Java
Moose.
Wednesday, June 19
1:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
9:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone scam reported.
10:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an intoxicated
driver at the campground.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Crews installing broadband
lines cut through power and phone lines at WTIP.
7:31 p.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $85.50 from
Ryden’s.
9:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Exhibition driving reported
on Artist Point.
11:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she wanted it
noted that she’s evicted the raccoons in her ceiling
and the foxes under her residence by blasting church
music. They don’t like to be disturbed so hopefully
this will make them go away. They’ve killed all her
chipmunks, so it’s time for them to go. She just wanted
the sheriff to know in case there are any calls about
loud music coming from her residence, and left a cell
number in case there are complaints.
Thursday, June 20
8:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Dog found and brought into
the Law Enforcement Center.
10:52 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to the
border by Customs to pick up an individual on a
Dakota County warrant.
12:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $49.78
from Holiday.
1:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost yellow Lab.
6:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a loose dog on
Third Avenue West wandering toward the highway.
10:35 p.m., Grand Portage: Moose struck by a vehicle
near Mount Jo and needs to be dispatched.
Friday, June 21
9:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of an MP3
player.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Property damage reported
at the Rec Park.
12:06 p.m., Lutsen: Dead deer and fawn reported in
the eastbound lane just west of Lockport.
3:12 p.m., Lutsen: Fire alarm at Caribou Highlands.
7:46 p.m., Lutsen: Bear problem on Mink Ranch Road.
The caller was advised to put the garbage inside or
build a bear-proof shed.
Saturday, June 22
11:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
12:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Hot-rodding reported on
Broadway.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: 1:15 p.m., Grand Marais:
Caller was concerned that people stopping near
Swamper Lake to take pictures of the baby moose were
creating a very dangerous hazard on the curves.
5:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Two brown horses running
loose on County Road 7.
10:38 p.m., Schroeder: Complaint about a loud group
outside the town hall. They were lighting fireworks
and there was lots of yelling.
Sunday, June 23
3:09 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there was
an intoxicated woman kicking on the doors and
screaming about her boyfriend.
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity. Caller
said he thought it was unusual that a Grand Marais
utility truck was out driving around this early on a
Sunday morning.
7:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $44.50 from
Holiday.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: The crosswalk sign at Third
Avenue West was down.
2:28 p.m., Tofte: Deer struck at mile marker 84.
5:13 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage woman cited
for driving after revocation.
6:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay man cited for
speeding.
7:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Thunder Bay woman cited
for speeding.
