Monday, May 13
5:05 a.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a
vehicle and was still alive near mile marker 94; parts
were also lying near the deer.
8:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern
for a dog that was left unattended in a hot vehicle
parked on Manitoo Trail.
12:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the back door
on a westbound semi was wide open.
7:36 p.m., Grand Marais: A bulldog wearing a sweater
was found on Wahlstrom Road. It looked like it was in
pretty rough shape, and the caller believed it was on
the run or dropped off. It ate an entire bowl of food
and water.
Tuesday, May 14
12:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured at
mile marker 115.
7:49 a.m., Grand Marais: A white cat wearing a pink
collar was found in a garage on Devil Track Road.
8:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft of items from a
Skyport Lane residence.
10:40 a.m., Grand Portage: Ontario driver cited for
speeding.
6:42 p.m., Schroeder: A semi truck heading west on
the highway was too tall to fit under the bridge, and
the driver requested some assistance.
7:14 p.m., Caller said his kids just found some drug
paraphernalia and syringes in their yard near the
street.
Wednesday, May 15
4:09 a.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance and deputies
called to the casino after a customer stabbed a
security guard in the neck.
4:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at Sven &
Ole’s.
7:30 a.m., Lutsen: School bus stop arm violation
reported at mile marker 90.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: two boxes of bullets were
dropped off at the Law Enforcement Center for
disposal.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer on the road
near Paradise Beach.
3:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to remove an
unwanted person from a residence.
5:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a downed tree
across Eighth Avenue West near West Second Street.
Thursday, May 16
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Human Development
Center said they are preparing for a strike, and there
will possibly be picketers outside the building.
12:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was walking
her dog, and another dog came after her and her dog.
1:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a pit bull running
loose on Eighth Avenue West.
Friday, May 17
6:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Two dogs were running
loose on the Gunflint Trail.
9:28 p.m., Tofte: Report of an injured deer (front leg
broken) near Sawbill Trail. It was still alert.
11:07 p.m., Tofte: A deer was struck by a vehicle near
Cliff Dweller, causing only minor damage.
11:33 p.m., Grand Marais: A stray cat, possibly
abandoned, turned up at the caller’s cabin and was
taken to the pound.
Saturday, May 18
12:29 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault reported.
9:28 a.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $260 from
the C-Store.
2:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost checkbook reported.
Sunday, May 19
10:38 a.m., Lutsen: Ontario driver cited for speeding.
9:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost yellow Lab
named Kirby on South Shore Drive.
10:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that an intoxicated
person was walking down the Gunflint Trail.
