Monday, April 15
12:02 a.m., Hovland: A white pick-up flashed its lights
at a deputy near the fire hall.
8:28 a.m., Grand Marais: A boat seat blew out of a boat
and was lost somewhere between Devil Track and Two
Harbors.
10:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a guy at Sonju
was bragging that he broke into a hotel near Lutsen,
jimmied the door and slept on the couch before
trashing the entire room. It looked like he was strung
out on something, and was bragging about breaking
in.
12:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said somebody
yelled at a woman as she was leaving a meeting at the
courthouse last Monday night.
12:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Two kids were throwing
snowballs at cars near Great Expectations School.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Roll-over near Magney State
Park, no injuries reported.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a neighbor was
burning plastic and garbage in his wood stove.
8:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Fire department called to
Holiday to extinguish a fire in the bait shed.
10:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Residential fire alarm on
Rosebush Hill. Undetermined why it was going off.
Tuesday, April 16
12:49 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a person who
was high on meth was standing outside her window,
refusing to leave. There were no known weapons
present.
2:45 p.m., Grand Marais: A knife was found at the
library.
3:57 p.m., Grand Marais: A new employee showed
up two weeks early at Way of the Wilderness, with
friends, and wouldn’t leave.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Disorderly conduct reported.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious men reported at
Seagull Creek.
11:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his wife was
out of control, and he didn’t want things to escalate
between them.
Wednesday, April 17
3:28 a.m., Lutsen: Parking complaint from Lutsen
Resort.
10:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on West
Second Street.
11:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the cows were
loose and walking down Fall River Road. The owner
was contacted.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost money clip
and ID somewhere in town.
11:18 p.m., Grand Marais: The bartender at Birch
Terrace reported an intoxicated person from the Cities
who was causing problems.
Thursday, April 18
4:49 a.m., Grand Marais: A semi was stuck on the new
Gunflint Trail, and couldn’t make it up to Hedstrom’s.
The driver said he would wait for the plow.
6:06 a.m., Grand Marais: A white elderly terrier was
missing from Cascade Beach Road since last night.
3:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle fire near Steve’s
Sports.
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a deer struck and
injured by a vehicle on the highway, with its head up.
The caller was given permission by State Patrol to
shoot the deer and keep it.
4:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Unwanted person at the
Birch.
4:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $54.23 from
the Trading Post.
4:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported at the
Higher Ed building. A boy was punching a 16-yearold girl in the face.
5:11 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch just east of
town.
6:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A drunk woman at the Birch
refused to leave, and said she wants a ride home.
7:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on
the highway near Devil Track River.
9:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Damage to a squad car.
Friday, April 19
12:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a vehicle
that was stuck on Cutoff Road.
12:20 a.m., Grand Portage: Power outage at the
Customs station.
2:13 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said a semi just took
out a parked vehicle at Customs.
Saturday, April 20
11:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible assault reported at
Birchwood Apartments.
12:29 p.m., Grand Portage: Two occupants of a
wrong-turn vehicle were stopped at the border with
marijuana, hash and mushrooms.
10:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Leonard man arrested for
trespassing at the Birch.
Sunday, April 21
12:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Duluth woman arrested for
DWI. A passenger was taken to Duluth for detox.
10:31 a.m., Lutsen: Caller reported his wife missing
after they had marital issues and she left yesterday
morning. He had not been in contact with her since.
2:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed by a
vehicle at mile marker 94.
