Monday, March 25
10:22 a.m., Lutsen: A deer with a large black hole in it
was lying on the road near the fire hall. It looks as if it it’s
been shot.
4:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Two dishonored checks were
received: one at East Bay Suites, the other at Buck’s
Hardware.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: A driver, with no driver’s
license, was stopped while picking kids up at the pool. A
deputy assisted with getting the kids home.
7:43 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck by a vehicle and still
alive near Cramer Road.
8:04 p.m., Lutsen: A driver was seen near the Sea Villas
going into the ditch and hitting a couple of mailboxes.
She may have been texting.
9:08 p.m., Hovland: Harassing phone calls reported.
9:41 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck and injured near Sugar
Loaf Road.
Tuesday, March 26
4:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that someone broke a
window on a truck parked behind Holiday.
5:28 a.m., Grand Marais: An elderly man was found
deceased in his apartment.
7:53 a.m., Grand Marais: A dead deer lying in the road
near Cascade River was creating a traffic hazard.
8:30 a.m., Tofte: Three mailboxes were found to be
damaged at the bottom of Onion River Road. The
caller said it looked like a vehicle traveling south on the
highway went off the roadway, drove on the bike trail for
about 100 feet, struck the mailboxes and then went back
onto the highway.
9:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said last night there was
a knock around 8 p.m. on her door, and they woke up
today and her garage had been egged.
11:16 a.m., Grand Marais: A title to a vehicle was found
in the snow.
7:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Assistance requested for a
person who is trying to get back home to New Ulm and
has no money. She also has a cat.
Wednesday, March 27
9:30 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was requested at the
Harbor Light while property is removed/exchanged
between the owner and last managers. There was
concern that things will not go well.
9:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller was concerned about a
black lab that was wandering around Sixth Avenue West
and West Third Street.
3:05 p.m., Tofte: Deer struck on the highway and still
alive near Bluefin Bay.
Thursday, March 28
10:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued to a
Minneapolis driver for speeding.
Friday, March 29
9:02 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found on a bench
at the harbor.
11:12 a.m., Grand Marais: A biker crashed near
Pincushion parking lot.
12:04 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
45-year-old woman with a leg injury.
12:10 p.m., Grand Portage: DWI arrest.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about the Duluth
Concrete cement trucks coming through town and not
using the truck route while going to the community
center site. The caller said some of the trucks also speed
through town.
Saturday, March 30
12:48 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said he has evidence
and proof of drug deals going on at the lodge.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was hiking near
Gunflint Lodge and is now lost. He came to a house and
the door was open, so he is just using the phone, and
will wait in the driveway. The residence is on Loon Lake
Road.
4:13 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance requested at the ski hill for
a 40-year-old man with a concussion.
8:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Residential fire alarm going
off on South Point Road. There is no fire, but the caller
doesn’t know how to turn the alarm off.
Sunday, March 31
9:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of dogs running loose
on Fifth Avenue West.
10:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller could see smoke
coming from the intersection of Eighth Avenue and
Second Street.
1:05 p.m., Grand Marais: An iPod was found near the
high school in the snowbank. It has a Hello Kitty cover
on it.
5:30 p.m., Tofte: Prescription pill theft/abuse
investigation.
7:33 p.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $25.27 from
the C-Store.
