Monday, Feb. 25
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: A Gunflint Trail business reported
the theft of items including cash and electronics valued at about
$10,000.
4:37 p.m., Tofte: Credit card fraud reported.
4:55 p.m., Grand Portage: Burglar alarm at the health clinic.
5:28 p.m., Schroeder: Complaint about a propane truck driving
very fast and passing unsafely.
Tuesday, Feb. 26
5:20 a.m., Lutsen: A suspicious man who was trying to rent a
room at Lutsen Resort with no ID or credit cards was refused
and sent elsewhere.
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man arrested for
possession of a controlled substance and storing drug material.
1:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault at the high school reported – a
student shoved a teacher.
4:46 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a person
with a concussion.
5:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man arrested for DWI.
Wednesday, Feb. 27
11:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender at the high school.
12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle.
5:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident on Pike Lake Road.
A car was pulling out of a driveway and the driver didn’t see an
oncoming vehicle due to the high snow banks.
8:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Moose struck and injured by a vehicle
at Kelly’s Hill-East Highway 61.
10:49 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assistance requested for traffic control
at mile marker 86. A tow company was removing a car from the
ditch near Chateau Leveaux.
Thursday, Feb. 28
11:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he sold a truck on e-Bay
but thinks he got scammed.
2:14 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 37-yearold man with a head injury.
4:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Child protection investigation.
11:04 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to check out an open
shed door on Blaze’s Pit Road.
Friday, March 1
6:41 a.m., Hovland: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile marker 132.
9:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her neighbor has been
harassing her about where her dog poops, does she walk it, etc.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said that as she was exiting her
residence near the courthouse a picketer was saying, “Down with
Stephen and down with you.” The picketers kept walking down
West Second Street.
2:41 p.m., Tofte: Damage to two rooms at AmericInn.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: A large group of kids acting
suspiciously in Stone Harbor was believed to be stealing things.
4:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Numerous gas drive-offs from the
C-Store were reported.
6:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Two dogs were running loose on
Eighth Avenue West.
Saturday, March 2
1:13 a.m., Grand Portage: A man was down on Mile Creek Road.
12:07 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 28-yearold man with a shoulder injury.
12:26 p.m., Tofte: A squirrel fried and burned out a transformer.
1:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a dog she was walking got
away from her on West Second Street.
5:20 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was stuck on an ice cliff up the
Devil Track River.
Sunday, March 3
10:12 a.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $111 from the
C-Store.
12;12 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 21-yearold man with a head injury.
6:41 p.m., Grand Marais: A black Lab, “Buckwheat,” has run off
on Fall River Road. He has some white at the back sides of his
back feet.
11:53 p.m., Grand Portage: Hopkins man cited for no headlights.
