Monday, Feb. 11
9:22 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was stuck in the middle of
County Road 14, blocking the snow plow.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Assistance requested with pulling a
vehicle out of the ditch below the water tower.
1:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.
1:50 p.m., Grand Marais: A black dog escaped from its owner
and was wandering somewhere behind the flower shop.
Tuesday, Feb. 12
1:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious vehicle at the Best Western.
11:49 a.m., Tofte: Caller said someone took his dog from his
home last night.
12:37 p.m., Grand Marais: A white transport van was left
parked in the Free Church parking lot since Feb. 8. Unknown
whose it is.
1:59 p.m., Lutsen: Theft of snow board reported at the ski hill.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Child protection issue.
Wednesday, Feb. 13
11:26 a.m., Lutsen: A commercial truck was parked at Caribou
Highlands since last weekend.
2:04 p.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs stopped two people at
the border with a fake British Columbia driver’s license.
6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: A 1-year-old girl swallowed a sticker
at the GunFlint Tavern. She was screaming and throwing up.
Thursday, Feb. 14
7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle at the high school was
damaged (driver mirror smashed).
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: A bulldog broke off its leash and ran
off. The owner was out looking for him.
12:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to Pincushion
Overlook for a 66-year-old man with a knee injury.
6:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was concerned about the wellbeing of a man whom she saw going into the woods with a dog
earlier in the day, and has not come back out. She said the man
was accompanied by a dog, had no pack and didn’t look superathletic. Friday, Feb. 15
9:28 a.m., Hovland: Caller asked for more patrols on the
highway between Hovland and Grand Marais due to the
number of Canadians who go 70-80 mph.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to East Highway
61, where a man who was walking collapsed.
2:24 p.m., Grand Portage: A .22 rifle was found in a Dumpster.
3:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Customs had a couple
counterfeit bills.
Saturday, Feb. 16
5:33 a.m., Tofte: Burglar alarm activated at Surfside Resort.
8:49 a.m., Grand Portage: The Trading Post reported that a man
took a bottle of washer fluid, left on foot and then smashed it
on the ground on Casino Drive. It is believed he is staying at the
lodge.
1:06 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious vehicle reported on
Townsite Road.
8:22 p.m., Lutsen: A tan van was smashed into a snowbank near
Onion River Road. No one was around.
Sunday, Feb. 17
1:28 a.m., Lutsen: A female skier crashed into a tree at the base
of Moose Trail.
8:58 a.m., Lutsen: Report of an overflowing culvert near Onion
River, creating ice on the highway.
11:05 a.m., Lutsen: Two crank phone calls to 911 were received
from a residence on Cliff House Road.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested that a deputy check
on the well-being of a skier who was pulled off the road near
Cascade.
Monday, Feb. 18
3:13 a.m., Lutsen: Loud music complaint at Lutsen Resort.
5:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Burglar alarm at Health Services.
1:37 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 48-yearold man with a leg and back injury.
4:15 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off from Holiday.
10:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Local law enforcement was notified
by the St. Peter Police Department to be on the look-out for a
stolen vehicle that was believed to be headed in this direction.
