Saturday, Feb. 2
1:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller again said there was a drug
situation going on at Birchwood, and children were present.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: A yellow Lab, Sancho, got loose on East
Fifth Street.
5:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported that a person went
through the ice and popped up, and made his way onto the beach.
No help was needed – he was just being a daredevil.

Sunday, Feb. 3
4:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Car in the ditch south of Swamper
Creek.
11:35 a.m., Grand Portage: Property damage reported at the RTC
building. It looked like someone tried to kick in the front door.
1:12 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said his new neighbor was out
shooting guns, and he just wanted to make sure he was target
practicing and not doing something else.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller again expressed concern about
a drug situation at Birchwood, and said she was uneasy because
there is a known felon at the apartment who is very intoxicated.

Monday, Feb. 4
2:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Damage to a pole reported.
2:36 p.m., Grand Marais: A possible drunk person was seen
leaving Super America, parked at Best Western.
4:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
5:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the garage door at the Border
Patrol station has been wide open for about two weeks, and
the heat is blowing. The caller reported it before and they had
someone close the door, but it went right back up.
9:43 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin. The damper was not
open on the fireplace.

Tuesday, Feb. 5
6:37 a.m., Grand Portage: A truck driver said a vehicle was flipped
in the ditch near mile marker 145.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
3:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-car accident reported on East
Highway 61.
7:38 p.m., Hovland: Barking dog complaint.
11:26 p.m., Tofte: DWI arrest.

Wednesday, Feb. 6
9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic assault involving a daughter
and father.
1:06 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a vehicle parked on the
roadway with its flashers on near the charter school.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A driver using a cell phone was warned
about inattentive driving.
5:54 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was stuck in the upper ditch
near Isak Hansen.
9:12 p.m., Grand Marais: The employee dorm building at Gunflint
Lodge was damaged when a fuel truck backed into the entry way.
10:26 p.m., Lutsen: Assistance requested for motorists who
slipped into the ditch near White Pine Lake.
11:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was walking home up
Fifth Avenue West just above the Laundromat when his wife
drove up the hill, illuminating someone walking down the street.
As soon as the lights hit the guy, he took off into a yard and they
think he went into a nearby house. The guy was skinny, wearing
dark clothes and had a backpack.

Thursday, Feb. 7
1:16 p.m., Hovland: Extra patrols were requested after March
9, when the post office will turn into a 24-hour lobby. Some
residents are concerned that the lobby will be open at all hours of
the night.
5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the doors of the car wash
were not opening, and he was stuck in there.

Friday, Feb. 8
3:29 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic altercation reported.
9:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a vehicle
that has been parked on Ninth Street for almost a year.
2:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported.
3:24 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 21-yearold man with a back injury.
5:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident at Airport and
Devil Track roads.
7:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a dog has been at his house
on Fifth Street all day, and will not leave.
10:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a water line break under
Eighth Avenue near the pool.
10:54 p.m., Grand Marais: report of a suspicious person on the
patio at Harbor Light, which was not open.

Saturday, Feb. 9
10:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.
10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: A few calls were received about an
injured snowy owl near the Shoreline Motel.
1:42 p.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit $20 bill was received at
the lodge.
2:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
3:07 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 20-yearold woman with a head injury.
8:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about an erratic driver in a
red pick-up truck near Birchwood Apartments.
9:58 p.m., Grand Portage: A deputy was called to check out a
vehicle at the Trading Post, in which someone was ducking down.
Sunday, Feb. 10
10:45 a.m., Lutsen: A candy machine was broken into at Eagle
Ridge.
12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog chasing a deer. Caller has dog in
the basement.
2:27 p.m., Grand Portage: A Canadian citizen was stopped at the
border by Customs with 1.3 grams of hash, a hash pipe and 4.1
grams of marijuana.E223:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch at Northern Light Lake.
6:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at the water tower.
8:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at the liquor store.
10:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off Devil Track
Road.
