2:12 a.m., Lutsen: Hit-and-run reported. The caller said the
driver’s side door of his vehicle was smashed in and not able to
open.
12:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller wanted to report an assault
that was going to happen in a half-hour.
2:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said that while he was out of
town, someone took a window out of his house.

10:42 a.m., Tofte: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.
11:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Probation violation arrest.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Cabin on fire at Solbakken. Everyone
was out of the building.

3:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Gas drive-off of $53.60 from the
Trading Post.
4:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Neighbor complaint.
5:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Officer needed in the ER.

and Lindskog Road.
3:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the highway
near Spruce Creek.
3:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Countywide power outage.
7:48 a.m., Hovland: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile marker 133.
8:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was missing a nearly full
90-day supply of RX pills.
8:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a car in the ditch off County
Road 7/Pike Lake Road.
10:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
11:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a weird baldheaded guy walking all over the road near the courthouse.

First Avenue West.
2:45 p.m., Lutsen: Caller wanted to know why there was a lowflying seaplane near Caribou Trail. It was probably the DNR
doing a moose population study.

collar was missing.

10:31 a.m., Grand Portage: Missing person reported.
2:53 p.m., Tofte: Duluth woman cited for speeding and no proof
of insurance.
3:50 p.m., Tofte: Maple Grove man cited for speeding.
4:59 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch off Ski Hill Road.
6:29 p.m., Lutsen: Assistance requested in removing a jackknifed
snowmobile trailer from Ski Hill Road.
9:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a possible underage party on
Old Shore Road.
9:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle near Shoreline
Motel.
Sunday, Jan. 27
12:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Ontario driver cited for speeding.
3:21 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 25-yearold woman with a leg fracture.
8:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she could hear loud
screaming and yelling coming from the corner near the hospital.
Monday, Jan. 28
12:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist who lost
control of his vehicle and the sled flipped off.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a stuffed deer was missing
from his deck. It was at the Law Enforcement Center, and
somebody will be in to pick it up. Not sure who did it.
10:51 a.m., Tofte: Caller requested that an injured deer in the
ditch near Cobblestone Cabin be dispatched.
11:16 a.m., Hovland: Complaint about neighbor’s dogs coming
onto private property and killing farm animals.
12:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for driving after
revocation and no proof of insurance.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern about
snowmobilers crossing at the entrance of Clearwater Road
without stopping and at high speeds. Conservation officer
notified.
1:57 p.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit $100 bill was received at
Ryden’s gas station.
2:17 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 40-yearold man with a concussion.
4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was gone for the
weekend and came home to find roommates had a party and
broke her bedroom door and mirror.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
7:25 a.m., Hovland: Telephone fraud reported.
8:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint at the high school.
7:14 p.m., Tofte: Smoke alarm set off at Surfside was a false alarm.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
12:33 a.m., Lutsen: Repeated false smoke alarms from Surfside.
9:12 a.m., Grand Portage: Hostile domestic reported.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of trash cans on the highway
near Kadunce River.
Thursday, Jan. 31
7:41 a.m., Colvill: Report of a wood pallet in the eastbound
driving lane near the fire hall.
6:35 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said her boyfriend locked her
outside, and she would like to go in and get her things, and get
out.
8:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible drug use reported.
Friday, Feb. 1
11:38 a.m., Grand Portage: Damage to a pole reported at Health
Services. There was more than $4,000 worth of damage.
12:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible drug deal reported at
Birchwood Apartments.
4:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her dog knocked off the
propane tank, and now the place smells like propane.
6:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $43 reported by
Holiday.
