Monday, Nov. 19
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
1:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about an elderly woman
who was driving erratically.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about Canadian driver
who was speeding, northbound from Terrace Point.
4:24 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a rifle shot at the end of Ski Hill
Road. Referred to a game warden.
11:42 p.m., Tofte: A deputy was out to check on a man who
was walking down the side of the highway.
Tuesday, Nov. 20
12:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said two women just came
stumbling out of Birch Terrace and got into a blue van
traveling east on the highway.
9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a man who reeks
of alcohol with a young child sitting in the conference room at
the courthouse. The caller said the man shouldn’t be allowed
to drive away if he is intoxicated, especially with a child.
11:12 a.m., Tofte: Report of vandalism to vehicles.
11:52 a.m., Grand Portage: Customs requested a deputy at the
border after a man was stopped who said he didn’t mean to go
to Canada, and was possibly drunk.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported at a
vacant residence.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported an injured bald eagle
on County Road 60. He said it’s all busted up but still alive.
7:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer in the center
of the highway.
7:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he just hit a small dog
on the highway, and it is running around in the roadway near
Chez Jude.
7:55 p.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle near
Mount Josephine.
Wednesday, Nov. 21
1:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked that a pick-up that has
been parked on Fourth Avenue West be checked out. It does
not belong to anyone in the area.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $141 from Super
America.
2:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious person at the courthouse.
9:14 p.m., Schroeder: Report of an erratic driver swerving all
over the highway.
Thursday, Nov. 22
3:33 a.m., Lutsen: A vehicle with a flat tire was pulled off the
roadway, and will be moved in the morning.
9:57 a.m., Grand Portage: A man confronted the manager
at the lodge about an unknown incident, and was otherwise
acting inappropriately and strangely.
10:41 a.m., Grand Marais: An 86-year-old woman suffered a
gash on the head when she was sawing a tree limb and it fell
on her.
Friday, Nov. 23
12:17 a.m., Tofte: A car that pulled off the road for an
ambulance to pass was having a hard time getting back on the
road.
5:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree in the southbound
lane of the highway near Cascade Beach Road. State Patrol
notified.
9:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued to a Grand Marais
man for discharging a firearm within the city limits.
3:02 p.m., Tofte: Report of a lost female German shepherd.
5:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a bike from
outside Steve’s Sports.
11:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Probation violation investigation.
11:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a truck down in the ditch
off County Road 6.
Saturday, Nov. 24
2:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Dog bite to the heel reported.
4:19 p.m., Lutsen: A person was stuck on the chair lift at
Lutsen Mountains.
8:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing phone call reported.
9:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the Gunflint Trail was
getting treacherous due to icy conditions.
Sunday, Nov. 25
1:32 p.m., Tofte: Caller said he inhaled cleaning chemicals,
causing pain in his chest.
3:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a white fluffy
husky running loose on the beach near East Bay Suites.
4:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off from Holiday.
6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an accident on Pike Lake
Road just west of the Cascade River bridge on the hill. One
vehicle was on its side just ahead of another vehicle off the
road and in the ditch.
