Monday, March 26
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: The Forest
Service notified Law Enforcement that
they would be burning a few small grass
patches on South Shore Drive where the
pavement ends, each about a half-acre.
12:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called
to Aspen Lodge regarding a domestic
situation.
1:52 p.m., Tofte: A 17-year-old female
said she was cornered by two mangy
timber wolves at her residence about half
an hour ago.
2:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Unauthorized
check use investigation.
11:16 p.m., Grand Marais: A prayer
group came into the Law Enforcement
Center to pray for their (staff’s) safety,
and to let them know that they are often
prayed for.
Tuesday, March 27
2:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise
complaint from Gofer Cabins. The caller
said he hears sawing, pounding and
building stuff at late hours most nights,
and it’s happening right now.
5:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
lost i-phone somewhere between Grand
Marais and Grand Portage.
Wednesday, March 28
9:04 a.m., Grand Marais: A husky-type
dog was wandering around Creechville
Road.
12:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing text
messages left on a child’s phone.
12:36 p.m., Grand Marais: A roughlooking young man slept in the
bathroom at Bearskin overnight without
permission, and also threatened the dog
with a knife. He is now sitting at the end
of the driveway smoking dope.
3:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Identity theft
investigation.
3:59 p.m., Lutsen: School bus stop arm
investigation near Clearview.
8:13 p.m., Tofte: Report of two collie-like
dogs that were very aggressive and ran
into a glass door trying to get into the
caller’s house. The game warden was also
notified.
Thursday, March 29
6:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing
complaint.
9:57 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle went
into the ditch off the Gunflint Trail near
Trout Lake Road. The caller said it would
be removed the following day.
Friday, March 30
7:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch near Cascade Beach Road. There
were no injuries reported.
10:13 a.m., Grand Portage: Power outage
on Ryden Road.
10:43 a.m., Grand Marais: A
conservation officer was notified about
a sea gull with a broken wing near Best
Western.
10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
smoke near the EDA office.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
possibly intoxicated driver parked at the
Birch.
7:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft
of numerous electronic devices from a
residence.
11:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a vehicle driving too fast for foggy
conditions.
Saturday, March 31
1:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Faribault man
arrested for DWI.
2:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on
Trout Lake Road. The Forest Service was
notified.
9:36 p.m., Hovland: Suicide threat.
Sunday, April 1
5:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing
complaint.
6:44 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was
stuck in the ditch off County Road 7, and
the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: A huge tree fell
across Croftville Road, blocking traffic.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Child custody
issue.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about an unsafe driver.
