2:26 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for two
people who were injured.
3:19 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 6-yearold male with a head injury.
5:10 p.m., Grand Marais: The Sheriff ’s Department was notified
that the St. Louis County drug dog is now on duty and available.
11:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of heavy wood smoke over
Birchwood Apartments.
11:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said her son’s dog was
attacked by wolves, and he was going to dispatch it.
Monday, Feb. 20
8:04 a.m., Hovland: Barking dog complaint about a kennel on
Camp 20 Road.
10:57 a.m., Grand Marais: The high school asked to speak with
a deputy about a student who supposedly had a “hit list” last
spring, and the school had just heard of it.
2:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Three 911 hang-ups turned out to be
boys playing with the phone, no emergency.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: The family with the two boys who had
called 911 came into the Law Enforcement Center, wanting to
have someone talk to the boys about why calling 911 isn’t a good
idea. A deputy spoke with them.
4:19 p.m., Lutsen: Complaint about loud firework displays near
Tait Lake.
5:01 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off of $38.18 from North Shore
Market.
Tuesday, Feb. 21
9:16 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm from AmericInn.
9:55 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm from Bluefin.
10:28 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch at the entrance to
Arrowhead Electric.
11:40 a.m., Lutsen: Stolen snowboard valued at $250 reported
from the ski hill.
11:48 a.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about a snowmobiler
driving unsafely through the lodge and casino parking lots.
2:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats investigated.
2:42 p.m., Schroeder: Accident involving a county plow truck
and an oversize load at the end of Cramer Road. No injuries
reported, but the plow truck was out of commission.
3:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle on its side along the Gunflint
Trail. No injuries.
4:47 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said two suspects who were
taken to Lake County Jail had meth hidden in their bodies.
8:59 p.m., Hovland: Deputy dispatched to a family
disagreement.
10:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about two horses and a
pony that were in the caller’s yard.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
12:51 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to the casino to
remove an intoxicated 19-year-old female from the lobby. She
was cited for underage consumption.
9:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to speak with a DNR
officer about a tagged wolf that has been hanging around near
the courthouse.
10:04 a.m., Tofte: Trailer and truck in the ditch on Hoaglund
Drive.
5:10 p.m., Grand Portage: A suspicious couple was stopped at
the border with what was believed to be a stolen credit card.
5:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing dog reported.
10:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Illinois woman, 46, arrested for DUI.
Thursday, Feb. 23
1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a sexual assault that
occurred in 2002.
3:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Two 911 misdials were received from a
guy in Fargo who was trying to call his tire store.
1:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost dog, which was
located at 4:46 p.m. at the deli counter of Gene’s Foods. The
owner was notified.
9:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Child negligence investigation.
10:03 p.m., Grand Portage: Two broken down vehicles on the
highway reported.
Friday, Feb. 24
4:38 a.m., Grand Marais: A guest at a motel complained that
a person in the next room was playing a war movie with loud
booms all night. The manager was notified.
5:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Unlocked front door discovered at
Johnson Heritage Post.
6:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the dog jumped the fence
again, and she thinks it might be headed to IGA again. She went
to wait in the parking lot.
9:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity at the Rec Park
investigated.
Saturday, Feb. 25
11:25 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
52-year-old man with a dislocated shoulder.
2:38 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 28-yearold man with a head injury.
5:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dark and light brown collie
growling and baring its teeth on Eighth Avenue West.
6:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A female yellow lab, Chloe, ran from
the dog sitter.
6:36 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was seen heading west on
Highway 61 at Eighth Avenue West, and almost got hit by a
vehicle.
Sunday, Feb. 26
7:37 a.m., Lutsen: Report of a stolen safe.
9:14 a.m., Grand Portage: Truck went into the ditch near the
Spur station.
12:38 p.m., Lutsen: The Highway Department was called out to
help a bus that was stuck at the bottom of Ski Hill Road. There
was also a vehicle in the ditch across from Caribou Trail, and
numerous reports of vehicles in the ditch along the highway.
10:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer dispatched near mile
marker 123.
Monday, Feb. 27
6:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud beeping noise reported near
Gofer Cabins.
1:13 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for an
11-year-old girl with a neck injury.
4:18 p.m., Lutsen: Hit-and-run reported in the Eagle Ridge
parking lot.
