Monday, Nov. 21
2:49 a.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance
requested for a male assault victim at the
top of Townsite Road. Two men were
arrested.
6:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
vehicle speeding on Artist Point.
8:35 p.m., Schroeder: Schroeder and
Tofte fire departments, and the Cook
County Ambulance, were called to a fire
at Minnesota Power in Turbine #2. All
units were cancelled about 20 minutes
later, as employees were able to put out
the fire.
Tuesday, Nov. 22
2:47 p.m., Schroeder: Deputy assistance
requested after a man refused to pay
repair damages from a June motor
vehicle accident.
Wednesday, Nov. 23
5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm
at Security State Bank. The building was
found to be secure.
Thursday, Nov. 24
10:08 a.m., Hovland: Report of a line of
six or seven Ontario vehicles coming in
from Hovland at a high rate of speed and
passing unsafely.

11:48 a.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs
reported that a vehicle with Ontario
plates headed for Duluth was being
driven by a man with a suspended
driver’s license.
1:06 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and killed
near the Lutsen Sea Villa sign.
Friday, Nov. 25
7:58 a.m., Lutsen: Caller reported that
someone set up an elaborate maple syrup
pipeline on his property.
9:50 a.m., Colvill: Ontario woman, 41,
cited for speeding.
11:07 a.m., Colvill: Ontario man, 45,
cited for speeding.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage
reported on Cutoff Road.
3:46 p.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance
transported a woman to the hospital after
she was found fallen in her home.
7:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Ontario man,
34, cited for speeding.
Saturday, Nov. 26
6:58 a.m., Grand Marais: A white Blazer
was found in the ditch south of Bob’s
Bend.
8:28 a.m., Colvill: A badly damaged
vehicle was found in the ditch at Judge
Magney State Park.
9:27 a.m., Tofte: Power outage on
Springdale Road. REA notified.
10:14 a.m., Tofte: Tree down on the
Caribou Trail north of Clara Lake Road.

10:50 a.m., Lutsen: Ontario man, 21,
cited for speeding.
1:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage
woman, 31, cited for speeding and no
proof of insurance.
3:25 p.m., Colvill: Ontario man, 19, cited
for speeding.
8:49 p.m., Lutsen: Ontario man, 40, cited
for speeding.
Sunday, Nov. 27
12:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
complained that a medium-size white
dog was running loose on West Second
Street.
2:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported
that two men were dumping trash in
the Dumpster at Sawtooth Ridges, and
they were not residents there. A deputy
stopped their vehicle near Thomsonite
Beach and brought the men back to
Sawtooth Ridges to collect their trash and
apologize to the caretaker.
3:12 p.m., Lutsen: Ontario woman, 39,
cited for speeding.
6:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Ontario man,
26, cited for speeding.
7:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Mount Rose
Community Church reported a burglary
that happened sometime during the past
week. Someone cut a screen to get in,
smashed some sheetrock, broke guitar
strings and took a jar of coins containing
about $100. No computers or other
expensive items were touched. Also, a
frozen can of beer was found outside.
