Monday, May 16 10:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported she lost a camera and bag containing two silver earrings somewhere in the Grand Marais area. 12:15 p.m., Lutsen: Bloomington man, 24, cited for speeding. 12:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais Motors reported damage of about $1,000 to a rental vehicle. 12:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic dispute. 1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a young female called him and asked to buy some weed. 2:42 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said a suspicious person is trying to steal multiple items; he caught her and thinks he got everything back. The caller said he wanted it on record in case she comes back. 4:25 p.m., Hovland: Thunder Bay man, 38, cited for speeding. Tuesday, May 17 3:33 a.m., Grand Portage: Trespassing reported at the casino. 9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Erratic driver reported coming down the Gunflint Trail. 5:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported cruelty to his dog by the vet, who put the collar/harness too tight after the dog was neutered. 6:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 60, cited for speeding. 7:27 p.m., Lutsen: Prescott woman, 28, cited for theft after she attempted to shoplift a candle from a gift shop. 9:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle driving down the walking trail turned out to be someone doing trail clearing. Wednesday, May 18 6:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle traveling erratically down the Gunflint Trail. 9:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $40 from Holiday. 12:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a guy who was at her house dropping off items stole a socket wrench set. She went and got it back, but wanted it put on the record in case there’s any more issues. 3:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested at the border by Customs. A Mound man, 22, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle and paraphernalia. 3:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported. 3:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance took a 19-year-old male to the hospital after he fell from a skateboard and hit his head on First Avenue West. 5:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Erratic driver reported on County Road 8 and 12. A deputy spoke with the driver. 5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious vehicle seen in the way far back of the parking lot at Cornerstone Community Church. The caller said the driver was crouching down to avoid being seen. A trooper checked on him and told him to move; the man said he was looking for Internet service. 9:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Duluth woman, 54, cited for speeding. 9:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested a welfare check of his girlfriend, who has been drinking and is possibly suicidal. A deputy checked and determined everything was okay. Thursday, May 19 7:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation. 11:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Oakdale man, 60, cited for speeding. 11:57 a.m., Lutsen: Ontario man, 27, cited for speeding. 1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that his ex-girlfriend is bringing people to assault him when they meet to exchange the children in Silver Bay. 1:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman’s wallet found near Devil Track General Store. The owner was contacted. 2:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported. 5:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Bloomington man, 44, cited for speeding. 5:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Grand Portage man arrested for domestic assault after he turned himself in. 7:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic dispute. Friday, May 20 8:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud. 9:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Marais man, 39, arrested for storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of children. 4:40 p.m., Hovland: Property damage reported. The owner said boards have been torn off the house and used for fires in the building, and there has also been graffiti. The lock on the chained gate was changed as well. 6:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said an intoxicated man was walking down to the lake, carrying a gun. It was a long gun, and he heard gunshots. 7:27 p.m., Grand Portage: The casino received a counterfeit $20 and $100 bill. 8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman’s hand bag found and turned in. The owner lives in Silver Bay, and was contacted. 10:04 p.m., Grand Marais: St. Paul man, 55, cited for speeding. Saturday, May 21 10:21 a.m., Lutsen: Tow truck called after a car that blew a tire was left abandoned, blocking the road. 12:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to speak with an intoxicated man who was sitting in someone else’s vehicle in the employee parking lot at the casino. He was apparently trying to get the person’s ID, but not having very much luck. 4:13 p.m., Grand Portage: The door of a cabin was found kicked in, but the owner couldn’t tell if anything was missing. 4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Highway Department notified of a complaint about the terrible condition of the roadway at Lindskog Road and County Road 60. 5:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of boards lying in the road in front of Java Moose. Sunday, May 22 3:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he believes someone is messing with his vehicle in the driveway, because the car alarm was going off. 6:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential burglar alarm on South Broadway. A deputy checked the area. 11:05 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic dispute. 1:25 p.m., Lutsen: Coast Guard notified after three loud blasts were heard coming from a boat out on Lake Superior. The caller said she couldn’t see anything due to the fog. 4:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he heard gunpowder bombs going off on County Road 60 — about a half-dozen in the past 15 minutes. 4:39 p.m., Grand Marais: A boat on Lake Superior was heard blasting its horn for the last 20 minutes, but it was too foggy to see it. The Coast Guard was contacted, and said the sound bursts were regulation required in foggy conditions. 6:11 p.m., Grand Portage: Canadian man, 30, cited for possession of 23.6 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia after he made a wrong turn and ended up at the border. 6:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Large, dangerous hole reported at a culvert on Bally Creek Road. Forest Service notified. 9:13 p.m., Grand Portage: Woman cited for driving after suspension and no proof of insurance.
