Cook County ISD 166 superintendent Chris Lindholm said that on Monday, September 27 one student tested positive for COVID-19. So far that is the only student who has tested positive, but as Lindholm noted, “the first known case resulted in quarantining several students.
“All districts around us have numerous positive cases so we’ve been very fortunate up to this point.”
Caution has been the byword at ISD 166.
“We have sent many students and staff home due to symptoms over the past three weeks, but all have tested negative – lots of the common cold we suspect. This is the first positive case of COVID,” Lindholm said.
“Students that test positive have to stay out until symptoms are gone for at least 24 hours or for 14 days if they are asymptomatic. Students that are close contacts have to stay out for 10 days if they show us evidence of a negative test – otherwise 14 days,” Lindholm said.
