Cook County Higher Education is offering an emergency medical technician (EMT) class this winter.
This EMT course is through Advanced MN. It is for any person interested in joining an ambulance or the pre-requisite to the paramedic course. The EMT class starts January 15, 2020.
The course involves:
* 44 hours classroom instruction. Students are required to have a computer/ laptop camera for ZOOM Instruction classes OR to come to Cook County Higher Education during class time in order to interact with the instructor and students.
* 80 hours of online instruction to be completed by the student prior to the end of the course at CCHE.
* 6 hours of skills training.
* Exam.
The class final, textbook, and background check are covered by course cost.
The learner will be instructed to use many techniques and skills suitable for ambulance work. Class attendance is mandatory. Passing the final allows learner to take the national registry exam to be certified nationally. NREMT exam is not included in course fee.
Cost: $1550 (contact CCHE if finances are a barrier).
