Cook County High School receives U.S. News and World Report recognition

School District 166 recently received notice that the district has made the U.S. News and World Report “best high schools” list for the fourth year in a row. Superintendent Beth Schwarz was pleased to report that ISD 166 had been named a bronze medal school.

US News & World Report reviewed 31,242 U.S. public high schools in 2014—141 Minnesota schools made the “best high schools.” Minnesota has seven gold medal schools, 34 silver medal schools and 100 bronze medal schools.

ISD166 is compared to schools such as Edina High School, which was rated No. 1 and Mahtomedi Senior High School, ranked No. 2.

Superintendent Schwarz said, “We are hoping we will move into the silver status as we incorporate more advance placement courses and students score well. However, we will also need to improve on our MCA scores if we are going to move up into the next level.”
