Cook County High School presents awards and scholarships for 2019



The CCHS Envirothon team’s first place at the section competition on May 6 meant it had qualified once again for the state tournament held May 20 at Oliver Kelly Farm, in Elk River. At state, the cerebral Vikings placed seventh out of 27 teams. This is no ordinary contest. Minnesota’s state meet is North America’s largest high school environmental education competition. Teams of five students compete by taking examinations and giving oral presentations. Topics covered are aquatics/wetlands, forestry, soils, wildlife, and current resource issues. Monday, May 20 was a big day at the Cook County High School as academic/sports, and scholarship awards were given out.

The following high school kids were honored at the ceremony for their accomplishments over their high school careers or in some cases, for participating in activities that qualified for state tournaments.
