Embers in boots are one way to get firefighters dancing, but the Lutsen Fire Department thinks it has a much better way to help volunteer firefighters wiggle their feet without getting burned.
That’s why Lutsen firefighters have organized the first ever Fireman’s Ball in Cook County, and they have invited all firefighters and spouses (or dates) to attend on Saturday, December 1 at the chalet at Lutsen Mountains.
A fire service social hour will start at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow. Steve Flaherty, a Grand Rapids fire chief and instructor, will speak after the dinner. Dancing will commence at 9 p.m. at Papa Charlie’s.
Tickets are $25 per person for the dinner and are available until November 15 at Benny’s Collision in Grand Marais, Clearview General Store in Lutsen and Tofte General Store in Tofte.
Special room rates are available for lodging on the Mountain. Call Eagle Ridge at (218) 663-0189 or the Mountain Inn at (218) 663-7084.
