The Cook County Curling Club finished its 2014-2015 season with Open League Championships last week. Taking home the win was the Rory Smith team—Virginia Palmer, Richard Palmer, Shawn Swearingen, Rory Smith.
The Cook County Curling Club held its Open League play downs last week. There were a lot of very close games, which means that the teams were evenly matched.
In the semi-finals Brian Smith’s team went an extra end against Andrew Smith’s team to go on to the championship game against his brother Rory Smith. In that game, Brian also played an extra end, but his last shot was not enough to win the championship. Congratulations to the Rory Smith team for their win!
The curling season has come to an end for 2014-2015.
If you are interested in curling in the 2015-2016 season, curling classes will resume in the fall and league play will start in November. Watch for the 5th Annual Halloween Bonspiel the weekend of October 31, 2015.
