The Cook County Community Fund, an affiliate fund of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation created in 2003, is pleased to announce that six grants totaling $11,680.57 were awarded this year to nonprofit organizations serving the Cook County area.
“The Cook County Community Fund is able to fund and encourage important projects and organizations in our community, from health care to the arts to the environment, and more, thanks to the strong support of our many donors. Please join us on Tuesday, September 16 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Heritage Post as we recognize our grantees and celebrate our donors,” said Tracy Benson, CCCF board chair.
The Cook County Community Fund (CCCF) was created to enhance the quality of life for people in Cook County by attracting charitable gifts, making philanthropic grants, and providing responsible financial stewardship and community leadership. Cook County Community Fund board members are: Tracy Benson, chair; Mike Carlson, vice chair; Ann Possis, co-secretary; Ruthanne Hedstrom Vos, co-secretary; Karen Halbersleben, Howard Hedstrom, Bruce Kerfoot, Richard Olson, Amber Pratt and Sue Riley.
CCCF is partnered with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation (DSACF), which provides the staffing, and supports our local board needs. Since its inception in 1983, the DSACF has distributed over $43 million and currently holds more than 335 different funds, each with its own charitable purpose.
